FAITH NEWS SERVICE – A practical, Scripture-rooted guide equips readers to move beyond uncertainty and experience effective, intentional prayer.
Gilbert, AZ—Even among faithful believers, uncertainty around prayer remains surprisingly common. In response, author, speaker, and longtime intercessor Liz Holtzman offers a clear and deeply practical path forward in her new book, “Stand in Prayer: Purposeful Prayer with Powerful Outcomes” (Redemption Press). Drawing from more than forty years of leading prayer groups and mentoring others, Holtzman equips readers with biblical tools to strengthen their prayer lives and engage more confidently with God.
While studies show that a majority of Christians pray regularly, many still wrestle with questions about how to pray effectively and whether their prayers matter. “Stand in Prayer” meets readers in that tension, teaching the power and purpose of the individual parts of a prayer model: praise, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession—helping them move from uncertain or routine prayers into intentional, strategic prayers that are powerful and effective. The book speaks directly to parents, ministry leaders, and everyday believers who long to see God work in their families, churches, and communities.
“I first prayed, ‘Lord, teach me how to pray,’ out of a deep awareness of need and my own inadequacy,” Holtzman shares. “What began in those early years has grown into a lifelong calling to help others discover that prayer is not a last resort, but our most powerful weapon and a key foundation of on-going, full, abundant relationship with God.
Liz’s paperback will be available on March 31, 2026; with the e-book free to download on Amazon for 5 days through April 4, 2026. Early readers are already sharing how much the story has touched them—here’s what a couple of reviewers have said:

5 Stars Profound and Practical Study on Prayer
“I love this book. It is life-changing in the best way, drawing me closer to God. Liz Holtzman shares deeply personal stories from her life and how prayer made all the difference. This would be a great small group study, but I am doing it alone and that works, too. I purchased the Kindle version, but now I want the paperback so I can write out my responses in the book and then look back later to see what God did in me through this study-devotional. Stand in Prayer is inspirational, motivational, and will deepen your faith.”

5 Stars Perfect if you want to grow in your prayer life
“This Bible study is helping me to think about prayer in new ways. It is growing my intentionality in the way I ask things, but not in a legalistic way, but a thoughtful and strategic way. I love the way the author breaks down prayer examples and walks you through how to do it yourself. If you are wanting to grow your prayer life, this is the right tool for the job.”
