FAITH NEWS SERVICE – “There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still,” said Corrie ten Boom, who survived the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp in World War II. Fellow Dutchman Stan Mons would agree. As a young man in a Christian home in Holland, he was searching for love and significance when he promised his soul to the devil in exchange for wealth and success.
He did not know then the depths of sin and degradation that would hold him in dark bondage and ultimately bring him into a life of prostitution.
In a new release, Prostitution to Preaching (Redemption Press), Stan Mons recounts his powerful personal testimony of encountering the presence of God at the depths of his bondage. God spoke to him, asking him to come back to him and warning, If you do not come back now, you will never come back.
At twenty-two Stan surrendered to the Lord and was born again, redeemed by Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. A new man, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and began telling everyone what God had done.

Stan Mons is the founder and pastor of Safe House Church in Portland, Oregon. Born in The Netherlands, where he owned a yacht design company, he worked for Athletes in Action and Campus Crusade for Christ after he was saved. A graduate of Summit International School of Ministry, he holds credentials with the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee) and frequently travels to speak at conferences nationally and internationally. He and his wife, Inna, have lived and ministered in four different countries and now reside in Portland, Oregon, with their four children, and enjoy boating.
