FAITH NEWS SERVICE – United States—Monday, October 23, 2023
Have you ever wondered about the intricacies of faith, predestination, and free will? Is salvation a divine decree or a choice we freely make? These profound questions have sparked countless theological debates and divided opinions within the religious community.
In a bold endeavor to illuminate these elusive doctrines, Am I Predestined? Or Free to Choose? (Redemption Press) Craig Reid offers a riveting and enlightening exploration into the heart of these complex issues.
Reid, a seasoned Bible scholar and petroleum engineer, delves deep into the doctrines of predestination, election, foreknowledge, and the transformative power of the new covenant. His meticulous examination of the scriptures provides a fresh perspective on the discussion around predestination and the free will of man.
Drawing inspiration from the renowned 19th-century preacher Charles H. Spurgeon, who famously stated, “I never have to reconcile friends. Divine sovereignty and human responsibility have never had a falling out with each other. I do not need to reconcile what God has joined together”[1], Reid embarks on a journey that bridges the gap between Calvinism and Arminianism, two major theological views that have shaped Christian thought for centuries.
In Am I Predestined? Or Free to Choose?, Reid presents a compelling narrative that underscores the universality of salvation and the all-encompassing love that God has for us. This ground-breaking book is an invaluable resource for avid Bible students, teachers, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their faith.
We invite you to delve into this captivating exploration of one of Christianity’s most debated subjects. Prepare to be challenged, inspired, and ultimately enlightened by Reid’s insightful analysis.
