An Essential Look Into Healthcare and How to Improve It

Dr. Hodgson joins the pantheon of physician writers, such as Atul Gawande and Jerome Groopman, who shed light on healthcare’s current malaise. As a layperson, I was gratified to learn of the systems, or lack there of, and pressures that influence our healthcare universe. Hodgson’s practical, relationship-rich suggestions for improvement seemed remarkably attainable and financially feasible. The building of team function and spirit promises nothing but better times for all providers and staff. This book should be read but anyone who has ever used a healthcare facility, as staff or patient.

For more information or to schedule an interview about this press release, please contact John Hodgson at email jhodgson@tsg-ed.com.

With provider dissatisfaction at an all-time high, he is committed to improving the way healthcare systems work so that healthcare providers can get back to doing what they love to do—care for patients, solve problems, and influence the delivery system. He believes it is possible to create an environment and culture where everyone in the medical field can thrive and where a sense of fulfillment, joy, and satisfaction can be returned to the practice of medicine. Dr. Hodgson is a tenured professor of medicine, entrepreneur, inventor, certified life coach, and agent for change. He and his wife, Dinah, reside in Moreland Hills, Ohio.

Book two of the Two Rivers Trilogy—Christian native American historical fiction adventure—focuses on spiritual warfare and intercessory prayer

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – In Down the River, author Michael W. Henry continues the adventure of book 1, Two Rivers. Down the River sends main characters Allen Hartman and Deacon Abraham on wild journeys as they battle dark forces that include pirates and demonic forces—but not without the help of powerful prayers from the people in their everyday lives.

Allen, missionary to the Arapaho in 1840, finds himself facing disgrace from his denomination, for dressing like the natives and living in their camps. When Allen departs on what should be an uneventful journey to clear his name, he is thrust into a mission to rescue his close friend Deacon Abraham, a former slave who’s been kidnapped by a depraved, vile man. Allen—no stranger to spiritual warfare—will stop at nothing to save his friend, including fending off river pirates out for blood and demonic forces intent on stealing lives.

Pastor to a small church in Ohio, Deacon Abraham risks his life daily to help transport runaway slaves to the next leg of their freedom trek. But it’s more than his life that’s at stake when he’s captured by a minion to a dark, formidable being—it’s his soul. Will the prayer warriors interceding for Deacon Abraham and Allen be enough to defeat the haunting evil, or will two men of God be brought to their knees before an insidious power?

A former missionary to the Dominican Republic and Mexico, if there’s one thing author Michael Henry is familiar with, it’s spiritual warfare and deliverance. “The power of intercessory prayer on behalf of those in spiritual warfare cannot be overstated,” Michael says. “The portrayal of fiction events is a reflection of the real spiritual battles believers encounter.”

Michael takes the reader deep into the heart of a man who trusts his prayers—and those of friends he knows are interceding on his behalf—and God himself above all, even when facing seemingly insurmountable challenges.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Michael W. Henry’s ministry has spanned from serving as a missionary in Mexico, where he encountered intense spiritual warfare, to planting and pastoring churches in Washington state. Now retired, Michael pursues writing, film production, and offers spiritual-life coaching to believers searching for deep faith encounters with Jesus. Michael has long been fascinated by Native American spirituality and culture. He and his wife live in Wenatchee, Washington, and enjoy hunting, hiking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities with their four adult children and grandchildren. He has previously published Two Rivers, book 1 of the Two Rivers Trilogy.

Author focused on End Times produces powerful new books

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – The study of end times might not be for every Christian, but as the book of Revelation tells us, the man who understands this book shall be blessed.

Marc Wheway is one Christian who has developed a serious interest in eschatology. Raised in a traditional Assemblies of God Church from age five, he was exposed to Tim Lahaye’s Left Behind series while attending youth group in the nineteen-eighties. The production both interested him immensely and at the same time, scared him to death. From that time onwards, he was hooked on eschatology.

Marc says that the study of end times helps him to stay awake as a Christian, aware that Jesus could return at any time.

“Regardless of my life concerning Christ, or the circumstances in general, I have never lost sight of the fact that Jesus could come for His church at any moment,” he said. “I also had a strong conviction that I would play a part in the “things to come”.

“Thirty-plus years later, I have not come across anything that has had the same impact as Tim Lahaye’s Left Behind series. Although I have read many books on the subject and have watched just about every teaching series and movie I could get my hands on, still, nothing has come close.”

With many Christian leaders not having a strong interest in the subject, and thus have limited knowledge on the end times, there are not many resources available, and often, what is available falls well short of the truth. According to Marc, many writings and those teaching on the subject lack the theological framework, and historical familiarity, to accurately piece together the puzzle.

“Consequently, erroneous claims populate Christian literature, popularising preterist, or partial-preterist theology, while stating that pre-millennial dispensational theology was birthed in the 1800s and introduced by John Darby,” he stated. “Ephraem of Nisibis’s (306-373 A.D.) sermon, titled “On the Last Times, the Antichrist, and the End of the World” is perhaps one of the strongest pieces of evidence disputing the Darby claim.

“Pre-tribulation eschatology was the original position held by the early church and is still the majority view amongst evangelical believers, although most holding the view know little about it. The importance of recognising that pre-tribulation theology as the original position equips the Bible scholar to rightly handle God’s word and prepares the student of eschatology for the last days, and the return of Christ.

“The evidence of the last days is seen through the signs of the times that are all around us, especially seen through a great falling away from sound biblical doctrine, more recently replaced by scoffers and progressive Christianity. Other signs include, but are not limited to, global upheaval and increasing efforts to establish world peace and security, moving towards a new world order with a yet-to-be-revealed one-world leader. Additional evidence consists of the corruption of God’s creation through human DNA modification and transhumanism, such as in the days of Noah.”

Marc says that few churches and ministries mention anything about signs of the times and most avoid the subject of eschatology altogether. Only recently, people are waking up and asking questions due to the salient, increasing and escalating signs, which is why he wrote the book Twenty-Four Signs of the End Times.

Twenty-Four Signs of the End Times identifies twenty-four signs from Mathew, Chapter twenty-four (the Olivet Discord), focusing on the events leading into the tribulation and the return of Jesus Christ. Marc says the signs of the times reveal the season of Christ’s return. While no one knows the day and the hour, the season can be known through the linear events listed that are being fulfilled. The end time signs are being fulfilled all around us, and they will continue and even escalate during the tribulation and the great tribulation, concluding with the return of Jesus Christ at the end of the age.

“Again, due to the lack of teaching resources available, general awareness, and amount of Bible prophecy being fulfilled, this is why I wrote the book Twenty-Four Signs of the End Times and other books on the same topic,” Marc continued. “However, my qualification and credibility do not come from writing books but from a doctorate on the topic. As mentioned, there is little material available on the topic of eschatology, which motivated me to help fill the void.

“In my early years, Tim LaHaye significantly influenced my life, steering me into a lifelong pursuit of understanding Bible prophecy. When seeking formal training on the subject, Chuck Missler was the next major influencer, leading me to Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary, offering post-graduate studies in Bible prophecy.

“After five years of rigorous study, in 2014 I graduated with a Ph.D. from Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary in Biblical Studies, majoring in eschatology. Twenty-Four Signs of the End Times is a continuation of my research, being my fourth published book. Twenty-Four Signs of the End Times follows Daniel’s Divulgement (2021), The Revelation, Proclaimed and Explained (2021), and The Revelation, The Revival (2015).”

In addition to studying Bible prophecy and writing books, Marc is the founder and overseer of Kingdom Seekers. Kingdom Seekers was founded in 2008 as a ministry focused on the signs of the times, leading to the return of the coming King, Jesus Christ. Kingdom Seekers Fellowship began in 2018, meeting every Sunday, majoring on preparing the church for the rapture.”

Marc’s books are all now available globally and will help steer any Christian interested in end times in the right direction.

New Redemption Press release details experiences of Top Gun pioneer and early supersonic flight

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – The highly anticipated release of Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the 1986 iconic box-office Top Gun hit, makes its long-awaited debut in May 2022, three years after its originally scheduled release date.*

Its original 2019 release date would have coincided with the fiftieth anniversary of the Navy’s real-life Fighter Weapons School—famously known as Top Gun, and founded upon the realization that US flight crews were inadequately trained for close-in aerial combat.

Producer David Ellison said the Top Gun sequel explores “the end of an era of dogfighting,”** which is also what brought about the creation of the elite Top Gun institution when US officials incorrectly assessed that the dawn of the missile age meant an end to one-on-one dogfighting combat.***

Captain Kevin Smith was chosen as part of the team commissioned to quickly revamp close-in-air-combat training for the F-4 Phantom II flight crews being deployed to Vietnam, beginning the elite legacy of Top Gun. Smith’s book, The Sonic Warrior: Chronicles of a Top Gun Pioneer, offers a riveting inside look at the fighter-pilot community from the sixties through the eighties and highlights episodes in his career, including his role in the launch of the aircraft carrier version of Top Gun; his experience flying two supersonic-capable airplanes, particularly the F-8 Crusader; and his perspective on executing combat maneuvers at sonic speeds.

“The Top Gun movies portray the intensity and excitement of aerial combat training,” Smith says. “My real-life Top Gun experience is equally fascinating and provides an inside look at supersonic flight and combat operations near, at, or beyond the speed of sound. Aviation training set the pattern of my life, forever changing how I see the world and behave in the world.”

Beyond a personal memorial and historical account of supersonic aviation, The Sonic Warrior is also an inspiring study in leadership and critical thinking, providing Smith’s valuable insight into solving complex problems and optimizing human performance in any high-stress, intense scenario.

“Air-combat fighting is not just about the aircraft,” Smith says. “It’s about the magnificence of the human spirit and the human ability to perform in stressful and trying environments.”

With a glossary of aviation terms for easy readability, The Sonic Warrior is written for leaders in any industry as well as for aviation enthusiasts and veterans.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
With a distinguished twenty-five-year career in the United States Navy, Captain Kevin Smith was among the pioneers of the elite Top Gun training institution. Smith’s unit was optimized to provide advanced close-in-air combat training for the initial deployment of the highly advanced F-14 Tomcat. For this successful deployment, which set a number of records, he received several awards and commendations, including a citation awarded by the commander, United States Seventh Fleet. Since retiring from the Navy, Smith has headed up the Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) initiative to redesign airline pilot training, now utilized by every US airline; consulted with Lockheed on the design of the crew station for the F-22 Raptor, the first fifth-generation fighter; and worked as a commercial airline pilot. He is also a speaker and author, specializing in critical thinking.

Chapter 4 is a great tool for people who are supporting the bereaved. Often times, people say the wrong things in a time of loss. The intent comes from a great place, however, the impact can be damaging for the griever. I love how author Gwendolyn Burton, gives practical advice on phrases that can be used when speaking with someone who is mourning. This book is such an easy read, although the topic is heavy. Gwendolyn has found a way to weave in practical examples, expert opinions, and personal stories to give readers quite a toolbox for not only going through the process of grief but also supporting those close to them who may be going through it. I am very thankful that this content has awakened the desire for me to “return back to a place of emotional and physical calm” as I am on my grief journey.

United World Mission Appoints New Leader of the Overseas Council Ministry

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – February 22, 2022 – United World Mission has selected Josué Fernández to become the next leader of the Overseas Council ministry. Josué will succeed Scott Cunningham, who will be transitioning to a part-time role after 14 years of serving the Overseas Council ministry. The leadership transition will take effect July 1, 2022.

Born in Argentina, Josué Fernández began serving with Overseas Council in 2007 as Regional Director for Latin America & the Caribbean. Josué has extensive pastoral experience in churches in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Queens, New York. While serving as a pastor, he developed a rehab program for young drug addicts, created feeding programs for street children, and established discipleship and young leaders’ training programs. Josué and his wife, Liliana, live in Cordoba, Argentina, and have five adult children.

“It’s a great joy and privilege to see one of Overseas Council’s own Regional Directors take on this important leadership role,” said John Bernard, President of United World Mission. “Josué has tremendous experience and giftedness that has served the Overseas Council ministry so well over the last 14 years. I’m confident that under Josué’s leadership the ministry will thrive.”

“I am thankful for the team’s confidence in me, and I am looking forward to working with other leaders as we walk with the global church and prepare their leaders to meet the unique challenges in their region,” Fernández said. “It’s exhilarating to dream about the possibility of seeing communities transformed by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

The Overseas Council ministry is committed to confronting the Global Leadership Challenge in which ministry leaders all around the world confront the tremendous challenges for the gospel in their context. In the Majority World, research indicates that 9 out of 10 churches are led by church leaders with little to no ministry formation. In “post-Christian” areas, many pastors struggle to lead their churches to engage their rapidly changing culture. As the next leader of the Overseas Council ministry, Josué Fernández will oversee nine Regional Directors who leverage their deep experiences, insights and trusted relationships to support seminaries and churches as they prepare the next generation leaders of the church for faithful service.

Scott Cunningham will continue to support the ministry in a new, part-time role. “I want to express my thanks for Scott not only for his 14 years of excellent leadership but also through the merger of the Overseas Council into UWM,” said John Bernard. “Scott has worked so hard to integrate our two organizations so well.”

New book Models Moving Beyond Resilience to Steadfastness in the Face of Life’s Difficult Storms

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – The term ‘resilience’ commonly refers to accepting a new reality caused by adversity, and to harness mental, emotional, and psychological resources to recover from sources of stress.

After living and working through revolutions, military coups, civil wars and general third world day-to-day conditions, Dr Ross James believes that ‘steadfastness’ is a more accurate term to describe the people carrying out God’s purpose.

In his book, Ascent, Crest, Perspective – The Making of a Bamboo Camel, Ross documents his experiences while working as a health communication and cross-cultural training specialist during times of civil unrest in places like Seychelles, Philippines, Pakistan and Cambodia, sometimes while bombs exploded close by and safety was considered a luxury.

‘Steadfastness’ comes from the Greek noun hypomoné, meaning not to be swerved from a purpose.

In Ascent, Crest, Perspective – The Making of a Bamboo Camel, Ross shares a story that exemplifies steadfastness.

A 17 foot boat caught in a menacing storm, buffeted by blustery onshore gusts as onlookers rushed to pull it onto the beach. Crashing waves were flooding the hull. They decided to turn the bow of the boat into the waves and push the craft back out to sea.

Then, in the relative calm, Ross’s friend climbed onto the craft, securing it with two anchors and bailed out excess water. As the storm pounded the coast all day, the boat rose and lifted, twisted and strained against the anchor chains, but it was safe in the midst of the storm.

Ross says, “We are all called to a purpose and designed in such a way to accomplish that purpose. We can all safely claim we are uniquely designed for some situations that others are not, and remain steadfast with Providence as our anchor.”

That’s why Ross describes his collection of stories as The Making of a Bamboo Camel. Bamboo first attracted his attention in the Seychelles. Although simple and vulnerable in many ways, it is versatile. Parts of bamboo were fashioned into all sorts of handicrafts, hats, fabrics, fish traps, ashtrays, bags, mats, and chairs and other furniture. Poles were used as scaffolding on construction projects and worked into housing material for walls and floors.

Bamboo is stable in tough conditions, it can bend with great flexibility, and only break under severe forces. Unlike other plant life, bamboo requires little outside management or tending.

And the maligned camel is a bit ugly because it can’t make up its mind whether it’s a horse or giraffe. And can be cantankerous when provoked. Admire the animal, though, for its design and tolerance in tough environments. A study of a camel’s physiology reveals design features that protect it from harsh sun and blowing sand, and conserve body fluids to avoid water loss and dehydration.

Another fascinating fact. There are 99 names for God in Islam. According to Somalis, the camel ambles, head held high with noble dignity and a self-satisfied smirk on its face because only to the camel has God’s one hundredth name been revealed.

Versatility and steadfastness in tough environments made it possible for Ross and his family to venture into places others did not want to go. Sometimes those places were physical locations or situations; sometimes they were conceptual places, ideas and methods others were yet to recognize or understand. There were times of simply plodding through deserts of discouragement and frustration, yearning for oases of emotional refreshment, but always with confidence that Providence was at work.

The clear message from this book is that life is not about survival but about arrival. Not whether you get there but what you have become by the time you do.

Like the boat rising above stormy waters, we are each designed to fulfill a specific purpose and we are anchored in the promises of Providence, the Living God, as Abraham was, to keep us steadfast, with an unshakeable core, not swerving from our purpose.

In Ascent, Crest, PerspectiveRoss says, “Let go. Let God. Providence is working for our good in all things.”

The book is now available globally.

Redemption Press author provides a beacon of hope and joy for those suffering with health, physical, emotional, and spiritual concerns

And with what started as a way to process her emotions, difficulties, and struggles, Christine began to study the Gospel of Luke. What she found there changed her life forever! Through her blog posts, “Countdown to Christmas through the Book of Luke,” Christine realized she had hit a core need in people struggling to find joy in their circumstances.

“Everywhere in every chapter of Luke, I kept running across the word ‘joy’ or forms of it—rejoice, joyful—even during the worst moments of Jesus’s life,” Christine says. “There are so many things to be thankful for, so many joy-filled moments, that I began to understand the joy of the Lord, and I couldn’t keep quiet about this life-changing gift!”

Her joy has proven to be contagious, and now Trimpe serves as a health and wellness coach through her ministry Joy-Fueled Living, helping others heal from obesity and chronic health issues of body, mind, and spirit. “I’m hoping to help anyone who is sick and tired of being sick and tired,” says Trimpe. “I can use my story and experience to show people a better way—a way that actually works, a way where people can feel hope again and experience pure joy!”

Powerful New Book Discovers, Is Hope and Forgiveness after Loss Even Possible?

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Sherri J. Cullison and her family stood outside in the darkness, a darkness that had never enveloped her as it did that night. Her home and her teenage daughter were now considered a crime scene.

Suicide is the nation’s second leading cause of death in fifteen to twenty-four-year-olds. One in six youth have contemplated suicide, while one in ten have attempted suicide. * Today’s youth are enmeshed in hopeless waters that they don’t see any hope for a cure. And some, if not all, feel unloved. Fourteen-year-old Sarah Cullison had shared her deepest fears and limiting beliefs in a note mailed to a friend—just hours before choosing to end her life.

Sherri says, “I believe suicide is one of the strongest tools yet that the enemy uses to destroy lives. Not just the ones who end their lives, but those left behind. That’s when we need to signal SOS and cry out to God.”

Through their years-long grief journey, Sherri, her husband, Ray, and the remaining children grappled with deep, devastating grief, numbing denial, and hard questions of why Sarah had died. A poem Sarah had written a few months before taking her life, describing what Jesus meant to her, comforted the family that, in spite of suicide, their Sarah was in heaven.

The raw and life-giving stories and Scriptures presented in SOS: A Mother’s Story of Survival, Rescue, and Hope in the Darkness of Teen Suicide describe Cullison’s grief walk, and how feeling disconnected from God can turn into the greatest rescue of all time.

Readers who have suffered loss, whether death or otherwise, and struggled with their faith will see God extend love, provide comfort, and begin to heal the empty places of their grieving hearts.

“This gripping and insightful book will not only arrest your heart, but it will also become a tool to aid you or others you know who are trying to deal with loss, pain, and inconceivable suffering.”
—Jay Lowder, Harvest Ministries

Christian Apologist, David Wilber, Defends “Biblical Marriage” Against Modern Polygamy Advocates

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – David Wilber, an author and Christian apologist, has recently released two videos confronting the arguments of modern polygamy advocates.

Be sure to check out his point-by-point defense of monogamy as “God’s creational ideal” here.

Also see his video unpacking Leviticus 18:18, where he argues that the Torah prohibits not only sororal polygyny but polygamy generally.

David Wilber has authored several books, including his latest work, Is God a Misogynist?: Understanding the Bible’s Difficult Passages Concerning Women. Ever since he became a Christian as a teenager, David has had a passion for the Scriptures and apologetics. He speaks at churches and conferences across the nation and has contributed theological articles to various Christian newsletter publications and websites. He became interested in the topic of biblical marriage after encountering some modern polygamy advocates online.

“I noticed that there wasn’t a lot of material addressing this topic from a Christian perspective,” Wilber said. “Frankly, most Christians don’t know how deal with the passages in the Bible that seemingly approve of polygamy. I hope to educate Christians on what the Bible really says about God’s will for marriage. The Scriptures are clear that God does not endorse polygamy.”

In addition to his most recent videos and articles detailing the biblical arguments for monogamy and against polygamy, David has written and produced content on numerous biblical topics, including the Sabbath, submission in marriage, Christology, abortion, and how to make sense of the slavery regulations found in the Bible.

Former Beauty Queen’s Life Story Helps Women Discover the True Beauty Within Them

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, September 21, 2021 — Author and inspirational speaker Norma Joyce Dougherty’s life story, Island Girl: A Triumph of the Spirit, was adapted into the new screenplay, Chasing Eden, which received recognition for Best Screenplay and Best Writer in the 2021 Christian Film Festival Awards.

Norma Joyce Dougherty knows all about the glitz and glamour that many women want. As a former Miss Dominion of Canada and contestant in Miss World, Miss Universe, Queen of the Pacific, and Miss International, beauty represented an escape to a better life. Having faced abuse and heartache as a young girl, Norma Joyce had an identity crisis once the spotlights dimmed on her new life.

“I believe any woman can have a meaningful purpose and an extraordinary life,” says Norma Joyce. “When women pursue perfection in mind and body but neglect their spiritual development, they feel paralyzed because of guilt, shame or failure.”

Norma Joyce understands the issues many women face every day. “Throughout my life, I struggled with many of the same issues that women in crisis deal with every day: belonging, abuse, neglect, abandonment, guilt, shame, and more. I overcame a broken heart, emotional neglect, and the pursuit of perfection to find joy and contentment in God’s purpose for me. I found my value, significance, and beauty in the Lord, and know you can too.”

Actress and screenwriter Sam Sorbo said, “I read Island Girl in about a day! I couldn’t put it down. Norma Joyce’s story resonated with me. I hope the film version can reach the millions of young women drifting in our damaging culture of conflicting messages and help them discover their ultimate worth in Christ.”

Norma Joyce recently unveiled a new website (normajdougherty.com) where women who want to discover the true beauty that lies within them can download a free chapter of her award-winning biography, Island Girl: A Triumph of the Spirit.

Island Girl: A Triumph of the Spirit is available wherever readers buy Christian books, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ChristianBook.com.

The 6 Ways You Can Recognize God’s Guidance for Your Life

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Today, perhaps more than ever, people are asking, “what does God want me to do now”? The future may appear uncertain to many considering current events, but my lifetime of experiencing God’s guidance has taught me how to recognise His voice in the wilderness, including my time working as a pastor and doctor in Yemen during the Civil War, which I’ve written about in my latest book, Yemen.

At God’s direction, we have experienced dramatic and overwhelming changes to our lives. Firstly, we married, and that’s one of the biggest steps of faith you can take. Then over time, I transitioned from telephone technician to medical doctor, then specialist, and then ordained pastor.

We’ve lived in Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Yemen and the Northern Territory of Australia, with children in tow. You can read more about God’s guidance during our travels in my books ‘Stethoscopes, Kiaps and the Law of the Jungle,’ ‘To the City of the Great King,’ and ‘Yemen.’

So, how did God “engineer” those momentous changes? Simply, my wife and I learnt how to hear His voice. Below are six ways that you can recognise God’s guidance, which include some of the key ways we heard the voice of God in our daily lives:

  1. Read His word, and especially Proverbs 3:6, “In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.” Claim that as a promise. Our part in that is to totally surrender to Him, really wanting His directions for life and obeying those directions when revealed. His part is to give us straight paths ahead with no forks. My book ‘Stethoscopes, Kiaps and the Law of the Jungle,’ covers the six years we lived in Papua New Guinea. The decision to relocate to PNG with three small children, and to go with patrol officers to uncontrolled cannibal areas, was a result of complete surrender to Him.
  2. Talk often (all the time) to Him. Discuss steps for clarification, “Really? Do you really mean that”? Such praying is indispensable for guidance.
  3. Pay attention to the lives, examples and words of other Christians. The idea of Bangladesh came to us from an unsolicited invitation to a meeting, where the speaker told us of the need for doctors in Bangladesh. The next day, we received a Christian newspaper with the headline “Doctor Needed for Bangladesh”. We were amazed (even trapped) and we had to think and pray about Bangladesh. Our mission, Interserve, ultimately also steered us to the needs and opportunities in Pakistan and Yemen, which is detailed in my latest book.
  4. The “wet and dry fleeces” method used by Gideon in the Old Testament (Judges 5). It basically meant asking God to do something nearly impossible as evidence of God’s leading. I’m not happy with that seemingly bizarre plan, but it’s in the Bible. It worked for Gideon and for my wife, Audrey, when she asked, in prayer, for the Director of the Health Department to personally ring me and ask me why I hadn’t applied for a job he had advertised. He called and I got the job!
  5. Another unlooked-for guidance step, physically unwelcomed, were our numerous health issues. Over a period of 70 years, there have been several major health problems giving rise to unexpected withdrawals from countries. Through the ironing out of circumstances, such as house, children, schools, money and so on, we saw God, who is in charge of our circumstances and surprises, and recognised Him straightening out our path as promised in Proverbs 3:6.
  6. The deep inner peace of God “which passes all understanding”, giving His seal to His plan. His plan wasn’t always easy and there had to be small, practical enabling steps like obtaining appropriate qualifications for the tasks ahead: a long-term plan to be completed before commencing the above; making arrangements for the children; obtaining finance to live and work overseas (including support from family and friends); winning government approval to change regulations; getting agreements for projects and the granting of visas.

The Lord has also guided us through 65 years of happy marriage, with 23 children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. And that has been our greatest adventure of all. He can do the same for you, too. So I encourage you, in these turbulent times, to seek the Lord with all your heart and to bring Him into every part of your life. You too can go on a wonderful adventure with Him – and you don’t even have to leave your home-town to do so.

Dr. Malcolm Dunjey is a medical doctor, ordained pastor and acclaimed author. Together with his wife, Audrey, he has worked in many countries, either for government or as medical missionaries. He has written four books published by Ark House: ‘To the City of the Great King,’136 Questions About God; ‘Stethoscopes, Kiaps and the Law of the Jungle,’, and his latest book on being a medical missionary, ‘Yemen,’. Pastors Rave about the Most Effective Forgiveness Book that Empowers Even Those Traumatized by 9/11 to Find Inner Peace and Happiness

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Sept. 7, 2021 — Dr. Allen Gee, author, clinical psychologist, and spiritual life coach, continues to guide his readers to greater healing, inner peace, and happiness with his latest bestselling book, The Language of Deep Forgiveness: Break Free from Struggling to Accept the Unacceptable.

Unlike superficial guides that provide only trite answers, Dr. Allen’s work is a practical roadmap to unraveling the core causes of being unable to forgive. It is a deep multidisciplinary exploration of how faith, spirituality, and the sciences of the human mind intersect at the crossroads of empowering forgiveness.

Barbara Solis, Pastor of Family Counseling at the largest megachurch in Central California, Peoples Church in Fresno, CA, says “This is by far the most effective forgiveness book I have ever read. I give away many copies every week to help those struggling to forgive!”

Pastors and therapists have found The Language of Deep Forgiveness to be an invaluable resource for their churches and clients. It has produced dramatic forgiveness breakthroughs, quickly healing deep hurts and long estranged relationships. Today, Dr. Allen’s groundbreaking work is actively used by over 300 pastors at some of the largest churches in the U.S. and growing rapidly. Although written from a Christian worldview, this book can benefit readers from any background or religious tradition.

In The Language of Deep Forgiveness, Dr. Allen notes that deep forgiveness is often very difficult to achieve. Many people are trapped in their own bitterness and resentment despite having a sincere desire to be free from the bondage of their negative emotions. Dr. Allen helps them overcome common obstacles to forgiveness by answering key underlying questions such as, “How does the precise language you use to think about forgiveness in your mind affect how deeply you actually forgive in your heart?” and “What can you do when forgiveness seems to require you to accept those offenders you consider unacceptable?”

Such offenders would certainly include the terrorists responsible for 9/11. Dr. Allen exposes the “Acceptance Conundrum,” a common block to forgiveness which often keeps people stuck, struggling, unable to accept the unacceptable.

Reviewers describe The Language of Deep Forgiveness as “an interactive and invaluable resource” that changes lives. Unlike other books in the same field, readers are quick to note that Dr. Allen provides sophisticated and effective tools rather than platitudes to empower them to reach the inner peace they desperately seek. His work is truly one-of-a-kind and revolutionary.

Dave Schmelzer, Founding Pastor of Reservoir Church in Cambridge, MA, says “As someone who has taught about forgiveness many times, Dr. Allen Gee gave me tools I’ve never considered to the point that I took several moments to freshly forgive several people. If you feel stuck in moving on from ways you’ve been hurt, or if you teach others how to forgive, I’m confident you’ll find fresh ways forward here.”

Dr. Allen Gee has dedicated his life to helping others reach their spiritual best by embarking on a journey of deep forgiveness to inner peace, happiness, and enlightenment. He has a doctorate in clinical psychology from Trinity College of Graduate Studies and did his clinical training at Fuller Theological Seminary and Hope International University. Dr. Allen can be found online at ForgiveWell.com. ForgiveWell’s mission is to transform the Church and the world, one forgiver at a time, so that we can all live with inner peace and happiness. Its motto indeed is “Forgive well to live well!”

The Language of Deep Forgiveness: Break Free from Struggling to Accept the Unacceptable is available for purchase on Amazon or wherever books are sold (https://www.amazon.com/dp/1735371610/). Sample chapters can be read here. 93% of reviews are 5-star, making it a must-read guide on finding inner peace and happiness.

‘God’s ad-man’ overcomes failure and depression to help many Christian groups

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Is the advertising industry a tough place for a Christian to work?

Not for a sixteen-year-old Tom Glynn who joined a Sydney advertising agency and later worked for top advertising agencies in Sydney, Singapore and London.

Tom tells his extraordinary life story in his biography, “God’s Ad-Man” released in August 2021.

The son of an illegal SP bookmaker and a failure at school, Tom became a Christian in his late teens. He believed the principles of advertising could be applied to Christian organizations to improve their communications and fundraising.

In 1974 he started Tom Glynn Advertising with two clients, Anglican Home Mission Society (now Anglicare) and Scripture Union.

“We also attracted commercial clients to keep up to date and provide income,” Glynn said.

Despite his success and the ground-breaking work, he did to make

Christian ministry more visible and effective, Glynn had his own battles to fight.

“During this time, I was suffering from clinical depression which was only diagnosed years later when I was thinking of committing suicide. I wrongly believed it was a mid-life crisis.”

God’s Ad-Man is a story of success and failure, commitment and hope, in business as well as personal life. It also paints a picture of how Christian organizations were able to begin telling their stories in effective, relatable ways.

Tom published Which Christian Guides (Mission, College and School) for fifteen years.

“As well as understanding something of the challenges of the era, a reader will be encouraged to walk their own journey of fulfillment, courage and commitment, in the life God has called them to,” Glynn concluded.

God’s Ad-Man is available worldwide and from Koorong.

Money Is Easy – New Biblical-based picture book for kids available for pre-order

FAITH NEWS SERVICECan I get a bike? No. Can I get an old bike? No. Can I get some candy? No. Can I get some ice cream? No. Can I geta …? NO! What do you think, child? Money grows on trees?

Sound familiar? Parental guidance has provided a misconception that money, in general, is difficult, or in some way impossible, or out of reach. Conversations about money seemed taboo and only caused arguments between adults. The term invest was way out there in outer space for rich people, and the words tithe and give were for preachers trying to get money.  Schools did not teach money management, and society preached go to school, get an education, but go into debt doing it, then intern, then work years and years to pay off your debts.

The Church preached money is evil and skipped over talking about finances, as not to seem like they were trying to steal from people. It’s a never-ending cycle that millions believe and have been sucked into.  The world’s system is designed to lure individuals into debt and hyper-consumption; hence good and hardworking people look unto to man, the government, and loans from banks as their ‘source.’ Although some of those things can be great bridges, it should not ultimately be a final destination. Sadly, it is safe to say that when you are born in the US, you are born into trillions of dollars of debt. It’s time to uproot such ingrained ideologies. Therefore, meet Money Mike, a super cool animated tree with hidden messages on his money leaves that reveal Biblical secrets to success.

MONEY IS EASY, the first of the four-book series is a bright and engaging Christian-based illustrated children’s rhyming book that debuts Money Mike branching out with the message, “Money is as easy as counting one, two, three!” Money Mike interacts with a young boy and girl, showing them his money leaves that have unique lessons and values of how to TITHE, SAVE, INVEST, GIVE, and stay out of bad debt. He explains three easy steps that reveal secrets to success to making money grow, like the leaves on his tree, and involves the kids to do what he teaches. Added features include a glossary of finance terms and scripture references to engage families in becoming familiar with financial vocabulary and learning more about scriptures that back up money prospering principles.

The lack of teaching and discussing finances, especially in the Church, is the driving force behind Charles and Angela Todd, the creators of Money Mike & the Gang.  As prayer team leaders who have had their 501c3 ministry since 2006, Todd WorldWide Ministries, the two biggest prayer requests in the Church the Todd’s continually experience are for health and finances. Furthermore, secular news has published articles that have headlined, “75 percent of Americans are winging it when it comes to their financial future.” It is the Todd’s passion to correct a very big problem that kids and parents need help with today.

Charles Todd, states, “While teaching ten-week financial courses on money management, all I kept hearing in the beginning from our students was that money was so hard. And it isn’t! Once we got a hold of the simple principles Money Mike teaches, we started to prosper more and more in our later adult living and were livid that we didn’t have this knowledge as kids! Hence the title Money Is Easy because it really is easy once you implement the simple steps.” Angela Todd adds, “Adding a supernatural Biblical base to just basic natural principles that govern market increase enables the door to open to be a blessing to your children’s children. It’s time to break the cycle of kids having to take care of their parents.  It’s the job of the parents to leave an inheritance for their children’s children.  And that is Bible!” The Todd’s practice what they preach.  Not only are they a living testimony of God’s faithfulness from once being bankrupt, but also have amazing testimonies from their students and those they’ve prayed with that have had miracles, breakthroughs, and abundance changing the course of their financial future.  In closing, the Todd’s both proclaim, “To God be the Glory!”

The Power of Fasting: How About a Juice Fast?

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – In addition to losing some belly fat, a fast helps to detoxify your blood and colon. Fasting can also help with digestive issues, constipation and spiritual growth. If done right, it can bring about a miracle solution to your problem. In the bible, in the book of Daniel, it is shown that Daniel as well as his friends, Medrach, Shedrach and Abednego did not eat the rich foods of their oppressors. Instead they ate vegetables, soups and drank lots of water as well as herbal teas. They were able to withstand being thrown into a lion’s den and a fiery furnace!

If you can fast for seven days it would help you to detox your body of some of the junk that has accumulated in your system over the years. Many people do not fast nor detoxify their bodies. Fasting for just one day can help boost brain function, lower inflammation, improve heart health, improve blood pressure, decrease appetite and improve discipline.

I ask my clients all the time, “When was the last time you did a detox?” More often than not, the answer is, “I don’t remember ever doing one.” In many cultures, parents ensure that their children take something that purges their systems. This helps to rid the body of parasites, too much sugar, psoriasis, eczema and a host of other blood issues. Fasting also gives the internal organs a rest from processing all the food that goes into our bodies daily. It is important to ask your doctor if it’s okay for you to embark on a fast, especially if you have compromised health. In many cases, fasting is recommended. In some cases, it is wise to proceed very cautiously.

In terms of spiritual development, a fast with daily prayers can help one to tremendously relax the mind, helps with disciplining the mind and body which helps you to achieve any goal that you set. Fasting can help calm the mind from incessant chatter and constant worry.

Fasting helps one to think peaceful thoughts, to slow down and to let go and let God fight your battles. Fasting also enables focus and clarity to some complexing and worrisome issues or problems. Fasting with prayers also reduces stress.

It is a good idea to do a juice fast. This consists of all-natural cold pressed juices, wheatgrass shots, water and herbal teas. A watermelon fast is a good way to detox the body and the mind quickly.

Some rules to fasting:

  1. Do stay hydrated. How much water should one drink? Half your body weight in ounces.
  2. Go for a walk and meditate. This helps to take your mind off the fact that you’re hungry,
  3. Ask your medical doctor if it’s a good idea for you to fast, especially if you have diabetes.
  4. Start off small.
  5. Don’t feast when you come off a fast.
  6. Stick with what you learned during fasting. Eating little portions and not overindulging in food is very healthy and you will stay slim.
  7. Don’t fast if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or have blood sugar issues like diabetes.
  8. Focus on the reason or reasons for your fast.
  9. Do pray often while you fast. Meditate on scriptures. Some problems can only go away with fasting and prayer. (See Mark 9:29)
  10. Praying with a prayer partner helps achieve what you’re praying for.

Dr. Lord: 13 Ways to Conquer Stress

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – I found a recipe for reducing stress while attending a networking event at Blu Mar Restaurant in the Southampton’s.

The two hour drive plus change of scenery from Jamaica, Queens to Main Street, Southampton’s made me feel much lighter emotionally. I have been under a lot of stress lately and this trip to network outside of my comfort zone totally reduced my stress by at least 30 percent. So, I wrote down some tips for reducing stress to share with my clients and with you.

As a naturopathic doctor, I see so many clients that are dealing with extreme stress and/or grief. I see the effects of stress as it invades and diminishes the strength of one’s organs. That’s why it is said that stress is a killer.

Tip # 1: Find a mentor who inspires you. Visit that mentor as often as you could. They will always say or do something that will take you up a notch or two.

Tip #2: Endeavor to go out to a place or event totally out of your zone.

Tip #3: Meet new people with different perspectives and follow up with them.

Tip # 4: Do take long walks in the park, on the beach, go hiking in the mountains, swim in a lake or step into a natural waterfall in the mountains, try horseback riding perhaps or a sport or game that you have not tried before.

Tip # 5: Meditate daily, exercise deep breathing. This allows one to release toxins.

Tip # 6: Do eat healthy foods, leafy greens, vegetables, drink lots of water and remember to take your vitamins and minerals. Know that mineral deficiency can weaken your body, bones and brain.

Tip # 7: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power so that you will be able to stand your ground when evil comes, like David when he fought the giant Goliath.

Tip # 8: Stand truthfully, go peacefully, live righteously and keep your head together. (Book of Ephesians 6:10)

Tip # 9: Develop and use faith daily as a shield to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Believe in yourself.

Tip # 10: Constantly pray, read and memorize scriptures, especially when going through stressful times.

Tip # 11: Talk things out with a friend or counselor if you can. Do read poetry, check out Desiderata poem it will help you see things a little clearer.

Tip # 12: Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and doors will open for you. (Matthew 7:7) Trust the Lord, believe His Holy Word, have faith and you will see the victory.

Tip #13: Book an appointment at a spa or beauty salon. A new hairstyle or manicure/pedicure will relax your mind, body and spirit.

The Pastor with the Cure: How to Bring God into Creating a Healthy Life

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Dr. Lord, a naturopath in Queens, NY, is tired of the man-made virus, the demon called Covid 19. She says it’s important to not only rebuke the virus back to hell but also to rebuke its evil manipulating, money loving creators.

The pastor continues on by saying that the vaccine will leave a mark on the shoulders of everyone who takes it. Many innocent people and not so innocent ones too will carry around the mark of the deadly demon released to dominate the world.

Dr. Lord maintains that her research, but more importantly, intel from the Holy Spirit, shines light on some traits of the virus. She compares it to a mind disease, when people are fearful of it, it draws them in, but when you are not afraid of it and not consumed by it, when you rebuke it and send it back to hell by the blood of the lamb it doesn’t bother you much.

When you are unnerved by your ill health, or stressed out by life or from grief, or worried that you will surely get sick, the virus finds a foothold to invade your system.

However, when you go about your business, taking good care of your body, your mind, your family and your home, the virus is starved.

By your faith you shall be healed. When we put aside the rich unhealthy foods, the soda, the pork, the shrimp, the lobster, the cake, the red meat and drink more water, consume more veggies, more salads, more legumes, more vitamins, more minerals, herbal teas, freshly pressed juices and more of the Word of God, then we shall be spared, in the name of Jesus. Daniel knew a thing or two about not eating the oppressor’s food. (See Daniel 1)

Too much of anything is no good. Everything should be consumed in moderation. That means less of our comfort foods, like white bread, pasta, roti, liquor, red meat and fried chicken, even though we all need more comforting right now.

Indigestion, panic attacks, dehydration, high blood pressure, cancer, kidney failure and more can be lessened by oxygenating our blood. Fresh air is key to healthy respiratory systems, and the benefits of deep breathing to exhale the toxins that poison our blood and system are understated. What that means is go to a park or mountain and meditate on the goodness of God as you follow the techniques for deep breathing. Inhaling through your nostrils and letting it out at least 12 times will improve your health tremendously.

The eternal benefits of taking daily walks, or a daily or weekly swim, drinking eight glasses of water daily, eating more veggies and getting adequate sleep are profound and necessary for healing. The virus reminds us that life is short and we must take it easy instead of rushing around like a hamster on a wheel.

Olive leaf tea, whose very leaves have been used for over 5000 years, puts us back to the time that Jesus walked on the earth. Most likely Jesus himself was given olive leaf tea to drink by his Most Blessed Mother. Noah knew about the olive leaf branch, as a symbol of peace and deliverance, a new start, a rebirth.

At this time we need the olive branch all over the world, because the whole world is in chaos. The olive leaf is also a symbol of prosperity, used by the Olympic Games and its sacred olive oil used as anointing oil all over the world.

The bible says as many that believe shall be healed. Just like in Noah’s time, as many as believed were saved. The rest drowned.

It’s time to believe and trust God as we rebuke Covid. We declare and decree that the coronavirus evaporates and is no more. I plead the blood of Jesus over our health and that of our family’s health. We can rebuild a better more loving world together.

True children of God, I implore you to keep standing by faith, just like David stood against Goliath and toppled Him by faith.

Therefore, take up the armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist. Put on the breastplate of righteousness, shod your feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace. In addition to all this take up the shield of faith, to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Put on the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:13. We have the victory through Christ Jesus.

‘Prevention and Redemption’: Evangelical Council on Abuse Prevention to Hold Inaugural National Conference

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Jacksonville, FLA – The Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention (ECAP) — a new organization aimed at helping evangelical organizations and ministries prevent and respond to abuse — will hold its inaugural national conference on June 17, 2021 at Nashville First Baptist Church.

The conference theme is “Prevention and Redemption,” and will equip attendees to effectively prevent abuse in the organizations they serve and be agents of redemption when abuse has occurred. Both prevention and redemption “demonstrate the heart of God in his care for his people,” according to the ECAP website.

“My hope is that people will leave this conference reminded anew that all people — including the vulnerable and weak for whom God cares so deeply — bear the image of God,” said Jeff Dalrymple, Executive Director of ECAP. “Caring for children in our churches and ministries is a weighty stewardship, one that should motivate us to do all we can to protect and care for these image bearers.”

The conference will feature keynote speakers, such as Dr. Crawford Loritts, Valerie Bell, Julius Kim, and more. There is also a full slate of breakout sessions addressing a wide variety of practical issues that will be of help to anyone interested in preventing abuse. Attendees can hear from lawyers, authors, pastors, professors, and child safety professionals.

“The work that ECAP is doing is ground-breaking and extremely important for churches and other ministries,“ said Sally Wagenmaker, an attorney serving as general counsel for ECAP and one of the breakout speakers at the conference. “Ministries will benefit tremendously through this upcoming national conference.”

While the conference is happening in Nashville, those who are unable to attend can register for the livestream option. Further details and information on the conference — in addition to general information about ECAP, its child safety standards, and other resources — can be found at ecap.net.

ABOUT ECAP:
The Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention was formed as a national organization in June 2019 in response to a growing awareness of the problem of sexual abuse within evangelical churches and ministries. ECAP seeks to offer a proactive, comprehensive solution for protecting children and the vulnerable from abuse within evangelical ministries.

ECAP will offer accreditation to ministries that commit to operate according to recently released standards for addressing and preventing abuse of children in their care.

ECAP urges awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the Evangelical Council on Abuse Prevention (ECAP) seeks to bring awareness to the issue among churches, ministries, and Christian organizations across the evangelical landscape.

Especially noteworthy for churches is Blue Sunday, which takes place on April 25. Blue Sunday is a day of prayer for victims of child abuse, and a day for ministries to commit themselves to preventing abuse and creating safe environments for the vulnerable.

“As someone who survived child abuse in the church, I’m grateful to pastors and church leaders who take initiative against this evil,” said Jennifer Greenberg, author of Not Forsaken: A Story of Life After Abuse. “Abuse perpetrated in the family of God not only ruins lives, it costs souls. It damages how we perceive corporate worship and even our relationship with Jesus Christ. Prevention cannot be over-prioritized, and how we respond when we encounter abuse has consequences in eternity.”

The statistics surrounding child abuse are startling, and yet all too many Christians remain unaware of how pervasive the problem of abuse is. Part of ECAP’s vision is to help churches, schools, and ministries understand the complex topic, and help them know how to work for the protection of children and the prevention of abuse in their context.

“While we grieve the necessity of raising awareness over such an issue, we are glad to do all we can in the effort,” said Jeff Dalrymple, Executive Director of ECAP. “It’s our prayer that Christians will embrace the occasions of National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Blue Sunday to evaluate what they can do to protect and work for the flourishing of the children in their midst.”

Those interested in improving their standard of protection for children can find a variety resources at ecap.net. Those visiting the ECAP website will also find information about the ECAP 2021 abuse prevention national conference, “Prevention and Redemption,” taking place in Nashville.

New book unlocks Spiritual growth; explores 6 extraordinary Old Testament men

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – We know that Adam was made in the image and likeness of God, but how is he a type of the Messiah, and why is this significant?

What does Noah’s Ark, Moses’ Tabernacle and the Temple of Solomon all have in common with each other, which profoundly relates directly to Jesus as the Messiah?

Has your interest ever been sparked by the similarities between Joseph and Jesus? There are many similarities here to unearth, but which other Bible great also has similarities to Joseph?

Did Jesus deliberately mastermind His ministry to mirror all the Old Testament greats, or, did the Old Testament greats play out prophecy in anticipation of the coming of Jesus?

When we lay Christians read the Bible, there is so much that we do not know. Ian Kuhlmann’s new book, Unless Two Agree, however, helps Christians get a much better understanding and is designed to be a strategic companion to your Bible, providing useful insights that gives a depth to the Word that any Believer will appreciate.

“Initially, I had no intentions of writing this book,” said Ian. “This actually began as a collection of individual studies of various prominent people of the Bible. It was only afterwards when a few family and friends had a read of these studies that they encouraged me to take this study more seriously and to find a publisher. At first I thought nothing of their comments. I disregarded them, but family and friends persisted.

“This is not a type of book that one would normally read from front cover to back cover. Whilst it can be read this way, being a collection of six individual studies into the lives and ministries of six Old Testament heroes and how their lives “parallel” that of the life and ministry of Jesus, the reader can pick up the story line wherever they choose.

“I have found over the years in my travels that there is a growing disconnect that Christians have with the Old Testament. I have also noticed that this aspect hinders their spiritual growth. This book is more like a Bible study resource, a companion to everyone’s Bible. My aim in writing this book is to help Christians to improve their Bible literacy, to help them see the Bible stories through a Hebrew lens; that hopefully will bring a greater revelation to the reader of the Bible itself.

“Another aim is to assist and equip the reader with the right tools so they too can go on their own journey of discovery into the inexhaustible richness and depth that the Bible conceals.”

Being the youngest of three sons to Lutheran farmers in South Australia, Ian grew up loving the wide-open spaces and the pleasurable farm lifestyle. Ingrained into he and his three brothers was a high level work ethic that has served him well over the years. “Born again at age 14, I remember in those early years asking questions about the Bible that was ahead of my years,” he commented. “Even going to the extent of literally counting how many chapters and verses that there are in the Bible as no one I asked knew. Since then, a keen sense of exploration into many subjects of the Bible was developed that ebbed and flowed over the next three decades.

“In 1992 I undertook full time studies in Theology and Ministry at Christian Outreach Centre, passing with distinction. Since then, my involvement has been with several churches, participating within the various ministry groups that these churches offered. My passion is to share the richness and the depth of the Scriptures with other like-minded Christians, allowing the God given gifts to operate and to enrich the lives of those who come in contact with me.”

Unless Two Agree is very reader-friendly. It can be used as a personal devotional study companion with the Bible as well as for Bible study groups. Each study has various points of interest that will encourage the reader or Bible study group to investigate further, or bring about further meaningful discussions. It is ideal for new Christians as it looks at many aspects of the Bible through a Hebrew lens, tracing some points of interest back to the Jewish origins.

The book’s focus is upon a subject that gets very little recognition, but is integral in revealing the Divine authorship of the Bible.

So come and take an epic journey of discovery into the lives of six extraordinary great men of God. Here we shall examine a host of intriguing and surprising events and characteristics that occurred in their lives, and see how these events and characteristics are mirrored in the life and ministry of Jesus. This shall then reveal an amazing Biblical pattern that has significant ramifications upon the design and the writing of the very Scriptures themselves.

Unless Two Agree, published by Ark House, is now available globally.

Anglican Schools in Belize Blessed with Bible Study Media’s Hearts Alive Children’s Curriculum

Houston, Texas, Release: Friday, March 12, 2021. For immediate release

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – [Bible Study Media, http://www.biblestudymedia.com] a Christian curriculum publishing ministry and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is thrilled to announce their new partnership with the Anglican Diocese in Belize. Thanks to the collaborative effort of Deacon Johnny Clark and The Rev. Charles Holt (President and Founder of Bible Study Media), this relationship between the Anglican Diocese of Belize and Bible Study Media has emerged. At this point, twenty schools throughout Belize have been provided with free subscriptions to the Hearts Alive children’s curriculum published by Bible Study Media.

Jeremy Cayetano, General Manager of Anglican Schools in Belize shared that “the Anglican Managements of schools, have recently been introduced to the Heart’s Alive Children’s Sunday School Lessons.” Cayetano went on to say that “these are well thought out lessons that will bring the Bible alive for children, and this program has the added benefit of following the Lectionary cycle of the Anglican Church. These lessons ensure that the children become familiar with Bible stories as well as the lessons behind the stories.”

When asked about the future use of Hearts Alive throughout the Anglican Schools in Belize, Cayetano went on to say that, “the [Hearts Alive] program is definitely a program that Belize would use to teach our children the fundamentals of the Bible in a manner that children would enjoy. The only obstacle that would have prevented us in Belize from adopting the Heart’s Alive program was the cost. Last week, Deacon John Clark, of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, notified us that due to a generous grant provided by The Stoller Foundation, Bible Study Media will scholarship the first-year costs, and No One Hungry will pay for years two and three. What a blessing!”

“As a management, we express heartfelt appreciation to Deacon Johnny of No One Hungry and Fr. Charlie Holt of Bible Study Media. Sincerely, we thank you,” wrote Cayetano.

This three-year course of study covers the entire Bible and mirrors the liturgical cycles of the Revised Common Lectionary (Cycles A, B, & C). The goal of the Hearts Alive curriculum is to introduce children to God through his Word with a strong overview of the story of salvation and how it ties to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Bible Study Media recognizes that today’s children grow up in a sophisticated world of stimulation and entertainment. In our society today, keeping children connected and engaged can be a challenge, and new approaches are constantly necessary. Hearts Alive delivers captivating content and provides a wide variety of activities that seek to engage a child’s emotions and imagination.

Bible Study Media has also provided Campaign Kits of the Christian Life Trilogy to the Anglican Diocese of Belize. The Christian Life Trilogy is a series of three Bible studies that together make 20 weeks of in-depth study to learn what it means to live the Christian life in today’s world. Representatives from the Diocesan committee are currently reviewing those materials to determine how to implement them into their local parishes.

The goal of Bible Study Media is to end biblical illiteracy within the United States and throughout the world. Working with the Anglican Diocese in Belize is one step closer to reaching that audacious goal!

The market place is our ministry, but how do we actually share our faith?

Not too many years ago, Christians looked to their church for all the answers regarding the salvation of mankind. The goal was to bring unsaved people to church and then let the church – and the pastor – do the rest. As time has progressed, however, and there has been more teaching on Christians being the ‘arms and legs’ of the church, Christians are more aware of the role that they play in being a witness for God in their workplaces and communities.

The challenge is that many Christians simply don’t know how to effectively share their faith. Ross Walker is one man who does not fit into this category. Sharing the Gospel comes easy to him, and rather than keep his secrets to himself, he has released a new book, which helps Christians reach out to the unsaved people in their worlds.

Market Place Ministry is a book that all Christians should read, especially in an age where getting people to church is becoming increasingly difficult to do. Yet, these same people are interested in God and faith – but perhaps do not want to hear about God inside the church.

Ross Walker has been involved in market place ministry for almost 40 years and has made the observation that Christians who are unable to confidently share their faith will often remain silent at a time when “the rocks and stones are wanting to cry out that Jesus Christ is Lord”. (Luke 19:40)

“My personal observation over many years is that many Christians are reluctant to share their faith in the wider community outside the bounds of their church community and close friends,” Ross stated.

“While there may be many reasons for this, it is most probably due to the lack of priority that has been attached by church leaders to the training and equipping of Christian believers to share their faith. I had an encounter with God at age 22 and became a Christian. It was a life changing experience.

“Immediately after this, I had a burning desire to share the good news of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with the people I would meet from all walks of life and I began to do so soon after my encounter with God.”

Many Christians feel that their role is to defend their faith. Ross believes that the evidence of true discipleship includes always being ready to give an account of our faith; and that your testimony and reason for our faith is the key to sharing Christ with other people.

“This book is basically a series of snapshots of my life as I have sought to find effective ways to share my faith in keeping with every believers responsibility to take part in the Great Commission,” Ross said. “Jesus committed this ministry to Christian believers, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to change their world and we all have a role to play.

“The teaching and testimonies contained in this book are meant to be an encouragement to every Christian believer to step into the greater purposes of God for their lives, which includes being “the light of the world” and the “salt of the earth” people whose faith shines through their everyday lives.”

Born in North Queensland, Australia, Ross is a successful businessman and a current company director. Graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, he worked in the the Queensland State Government, before commencing work within thr private sector. He also graduated from Strikeforce Ministry Training Institute in 1997 with a Diploma in Christian Ministry.

Ross is currently the Principal of the Roscar Group of Companies, which has been highly successful in the project management of major event transport. He also has a successful technology business and a management consulting business.

“God called me into the market place back in the early 1980’s and I have witnessed the power of God touching lives in some of the most remarkable ways, a number of which could easily qualify for the Book of Acts,” he said. “I was an ordinary person who had a life-changing encounter with God and from Day 1, I chose to take the Great Commission seriously.

“God blessed me greatly in my state government roles and I had six promotions in seven years – being one of the fastest promoted in the history of the Department of Transport. Over the last 40 plus years, I have had extensive church leadership involvement including being an Assistant Pastor, several Eldership and Board positions, as well as Life Group Leader and Carer roles; plus many other aspects of church leadership. I love the opportunity to serve God.

“However, I agree with Bill Johnson, where he says in his book, ‘Walking in the Spirit’, that “Jesus did not go through what he went through so we could do church”. There is a much greater purpose!”

Market Place Ministry has teaching chapters interlaced with testimonials, describing market place situations where the principles being taught are then demonstrated, as people are led into an encounter with Jesus Christ. The book includes specific teaching on the principles and some proven techniques on how to share your faith in real life situations. The principles used have all been derived from the gospels of Jesus Christ and His Apostles, as well as many great soul winners for Christ.

Finally, the book describes many real life situations in market places, churches and other locations where all nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit have been used with miracles, signs and wonders following. These things are what Jesus said would follow when believers go into all the world and preach the good news!

“Many churches (including some whole denominations) have struggled with declining church attendances for years,” Ross continued. “How to present a never changing God to an ever changing world has become one of the most serious challenges for the church of Jesus Christ.

“However, if church leaders continue presenting the gospel in the same manner year after year and get the same results (including declining attendances), there is clearly something wrong. Within the church community there is tremendous benefit to be derived from modernising the message without compromising God’s Word or His ways and churches that have embraced this principle have experienced great rewards.

“However, for serious church growth to occur, believers need to be trained and equipped to share their faith by church leaders. The law of seedtime and harvest applies to every area of our lives, including church growth. If you don’t plant seed, then don’t expect a crop.

“It was not by coincidence that the sower was the very first parable Jesus taught and it appeared in all three of the Synoptic gospels. The underlying message is that the Word of God needs to be sown into the crowds of people we come in contact with on a daily basis. The fields are actually very ripe, ready for harvest.

“If this is not happening, then church growth will typically only occur when the more evangelical orientated believers within existing congregations invite their friends or through advertising campaigns, special events, and so on. When the church of Jesus Christ seriously recognises that it has a part to play in the Great Commission and trains, equips and empowers its people to share their faith and reach out to people ‘outside the church’, then it is the beginning of the pathway to growth.”

Market Place Ministry offers many practical examples on how to reach out beyond the church walls. This book is also being offered as an assistance to church leaders with their role of training and equipping the saints for works of service. It is effective for both the church leaders, as well as Christians wanting to make a difference.

Market Place Ministry is full of suggestions and advice on how to evangelize practically. Ross suggests that the number one ingredient is for Christians to have their personal testimony ready (as to how they encountered God) and then be prepared to share this when the opportunity arises.

“Pray and ask God to prepare the way for an encounter with someone in need of God in their life,” Ross suggested. ”When the point of encounter happens, look for the leading of the Holy Spirit in what to say and how to say it and you are on your way.

“For some people, their heart can open within a few moments of conversation. With others it may take years, but keep sowing faithfully into their lives until the seed takes root. Every person you meet is on their own journey through life. God treats them all as individuals, so recognize this and let your light shine through good works, genuine love, mercy, compassion and being there for people when they need a friend.

You may have figured out Plan A, but What Is Your Plan B?

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – John Cronshaw is a remarkable man. Having been a Christian since 1960, he is the founding director of a group of tourism companies based in the Blue Mountains of Australia, which was initially established in 1974.

John regards his business as a ministry and part of his business is Christian Fellowship Tours, which takes Christians on vacations and pilgrimages throughout both Australia and the world.

As a coach captain, he has driven coaches Australia wide, including in one twelve month period touring to every Australian Capital city. In training other coach captains in his business, he states that “commentary is meant to educate, inform and entertain”, so research of local geography, history and geology to create an interesting commentary for passengers on tour means the delivered content needs to be easily understood and interesting.

He has taken this principle into his Coach Captain’s Commentary of the Bible in his new book ‘What Is Your Plan B?’ to present a very concise and readable summary of the story of the Bible from the beginning and leading to Jesus’ Crucifixion.

While his book is a great read for Christians, it is also ideal for a person who is interested in the Bible and is yet to decide whether “the Lord He is God”, or for people who need to get an understanding of how the parts of the Bible all fit together. Far from a heavy academic, theological style of book, it is instead a readable summary of what God’s Plan A was intended to be.

What is Your Plan B? was birthed in a small church in Melbourne where we were chatting about the time in the Garden of Gethsemane and Jesus found the disciples asleep ‘exhausted from sorrow,’” John stated. “Why were they exhausted from sorrow when the real drama was still to unfold with Jesus’ trial and crucifixion?

“The events of the few weeks prior must have had some major impact on them. So what were the events preceding the crucifixion? Where does the investigation end? Back in time I went in writing this book to Jesus’ birth. Why? Through the prophets. Why? And then back past the Exodus to Abraham.

“Just what is God’s Plan A? And for many of us, our plan A normally does not include God. A Coach captain’s Commentary of the Bible was born, in simple, non-technical jargon.”

Originally trained as a secondary school teacher responsible for teaching agriculture and biology, what was a hobby taking kids on school excursions grew into something bigger. After teaching for 11 years, John, along with a few other families, bought an old, run down tourist coach business in the Blue Mountains in 1974.

The business is still trading and has three parts to it: a secular coach arm called Fantastic Aussie Tours; a Double Decker fleet of buses that operate a hop-on-hop-off service in the Blue Mountains region, and an organized touring programme of Australian and international tours called Christian Fellowship Tours. John has been actively involved in this business since 1974 and to this day, he still conducts tours for Christian Fellowship Tours.

“The strength of my life is its ordinariness,” John stated. However, one thing is clear: he has a love for God and the Bible. “I qualified as a teacher, have a certificate in theology that does not accrue any university points, have driven coaches for the greater part of my life while also running the business, and have been an active lay person in my church and some other Christian and secular organizations.

“God’s Plan A as revealed in Jesus is something that existed before creation. This in itself is an amazing concept. To many, the Bible is complex because it is not a book you can read like a novel, and linking the bits and pieces together is something that is also seen as hard to undertake. In simple terms, I link the narrative together, outlining God’s Plan A, the pathway through the prophets to Jesus’ time on earth and then look into the Rest of Time.

“While some Bible references are listed, important passages are printed in the text so there is no need to go scrambling or putting off reading them because they are important things to read.

“The key selling feature is its readability. For someone interested in the deeper treatment and the theology of the Bible, this is not your book. It is instead designed for a Christian person who wants to get a good overview, or a non-Christian person who is interested in looking at what the Bible says about the Christian faith. I start with the premise ‘The Bible is what it says it is, and God is who He says he is in the Bible’. That’s a good starting point.”

This is not John’s first book. He has also written ‘Coached by God’, helping the successful Christian examine the conflict between the success manuals of the world with the text of Scripture. In this, he asks if Christianity and success are compatible?

‘Buspa’s Corner’ is a series of devotions styled from the devotions conduct while on tours, and ‘The Land of the Bible’ is a guide book useful for taking on tour when visiting Egypt, Jordan and Israel.

Do not be fooled by the International Criminal Court’s probe into alleged War Crimes by Israel in the Disputed Territories

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – To the Christian Community, the short article below may help you in understanding the incorrectness of a possible probe by the International Criminal Court into alleged Israeli “war crimes” in the disputed territories.

***

The International Criminal Court (ICC) wants to illegally extend its judicial gavel into areas beyond its jurisdiction and probe into Israeli actions in the disputed territories. Although the State of Israel is not a member of what has mutated into a politicized judicial club, the ICC is set to begin possible investigations into Israeli “war-crimes” in these areas. Israel has its own robust and honest judicial system which is well capable of investigating any crimes and prosecuting when necessary. Recent history proves that.

The fact that the State of Israel is not a party to the Rome Statute, the mandate governing the International Criminal Court (for good reasons; the United States also is not a member), means the ICC has no jurisdiction whatsoever over alleged “war crimes” committed either within Israel’s territory or the disputed territories. “Palestine”, not being a recognised nation-state in the United Nations (except with observer status) means the ICC has no legal jurisdiction to make any investigation.

Despite this, in a panel of three international judges the majority (2) voted that the ICC does have jurisdiction to investigate alleged war crimes by Israel in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The third judge in the decision—the Chief judge, opposed this vociferously. As of the date of this writing, sovereign states which have opposed the ICC decision are Israel, USA, Canada, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Uganda, Brazil, and Australia.

Whereas the ICC was set up in 1998 with what were good intentions—to seek out and bring to justice real war criminals, yet in more recent times it has become a political tool in the hands of the Palestinian Authority to demonise and threaten the citizens of the Jewish State. For example, in the 2014 Gaza War (Operation Protective Edge), when the Israelis were being kidnapped, murdered, rocket-attacked, and threatened by the invasion of jihadist extremists using underground tunnels protruding out of Gaza, the Israelis had no choice but to retaliate for the defence of their own citizens. Israel did what any reasonable western democracy would do to defend its territory and reassure its citizens of the ability of its defence force to protect them. Although at the time extremely negative media coverage accused Israel of disproportionate force, the fact was that the Israelis were doing all they could to warn innocent Gazan civilians of impending attacks, so as not to target the innocent. The Israeli aim was to weed out and target the Hamas operatives who were escalating the war.

Having been forced to conduct a defensive war against the extremists, the Israelis are now threatened with investigations by a politicised and biased International Criminal Court, which could find Israeli Defence Force personnel in the firing line for simply doing their job to defend a democratic nation. This could result in the conviction of good Israelis, their imprisonment (if found outside of the borders of Israel), and the seizure of their financial assets. They will find no end to fabricated “testimony” of Palestinians who claim such crimes took place. As happened in the war of 2014, the extremists will distort photographic imagery to “prove” their point.

Another concern for Israel is that “settlers” who are fulfilling their national and historic right to build a life on the land of their ancestors in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) will also find themselves in the firing line of the International Criminal Court. The ICC may call the relocation of Israelis, who by their own choice decide to live on this ancestral land, a “war crime”. They may accuse Israel as an “occupying power” of transferring its citizens into land the Palestinians claim as their own. You can imagine how this could get out of hand. Why isn’t the ICC investigating real war crimes taking place in Iran, Syria, Turkey, Yemen, and other places?

President Mahmoud Abbas, as leader of the Palestinians, made their position clear in 2011 regarding Palestinian membership into international institutions:

Palestine’s admission to the United Nations would pave the way for the internationalization of the conflict as a legal matter, not only a political one. It would also pave the way for us to pursue claims against Israel at the United Nations, human rights treaty bodies and the International Court of Justice. (NY Times, May 16, 2011)

Unfortunately, the Palestinians once again are using the ignorance of the international community; its susceptibility to swallow distorted emotive rhetoric and lies from the Arab side; and the bias that already exists in the United Nations against the Jewish state, to try and fulfil what they had pledged themselves to fulfil only through open negotiations with the Israelis—a real Palestinian state. As long as the international community continues to accommodate this diversionary tactic by the Palestinians—i.e., trying to achieve their aim by any means except negotiations with the Israelis, then the stalemate will continue. Do not be fooled by the International Criminal Court’s probe into alleged War Crimes by Israel in the Disputed Territories. This is not justice; it is Palestinian politics.

Calvary Chapel Old Bridge to Host Answers in Genesis Creation Conference

Dr. Terry Mortenson to Speak at Two-Day Conference

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Old Bridge, NJ: Calvary Chapel Old Bridge, a non-denominational Christian church will be hosting a Creation Conference with Dr. Terry Mortenson of Answers in Genesis on February 20-22. The conference will take place during regular weekend church services as well as special evening sessions and will explore biblical answers to the problems America is facing today.

Dr. Mortenson holds a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Philosophy in the history of geology and has lectured in 35 countries. He has served for 26 years with Campus Crusade for Christ in the United States and Eastern Europe and now serves as an author, speaker and researcher with Answers in Genesis.

Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry dedicated to equipping Christians to defend their faith and proclaim the gospel effectively. The organization focuses on providing answers to questions about the Bible, particularly in the book of Genesis regarding key issues such as creation, evolution, science, and the age of the earth.

Among the lectures Dr. Mortenson will be teaching are, “Creation, Evolution and Our Cultural Moment,” “Origin of Species: was Darwin right?,” “Ape-men, Adam & the Gospel,” “Millions of Years: The Idea’s Unscientific Origin and Catastrophic Consequences,” “Noah’s Flood: Washing Away Millions of Years.”

In his lectures Dr. Terry Mortenson will be discussing foundational causes for the moral crisis America is facing. With no absolute morals, how do we address pornography, abortion, suicide, gender issues and homosexual “marriage”?  Why is America becoming less and less Christian, even anti-Christian, everyday, although we are the country with the greatest number of Christian resources?  Dr. Mortenson will show over the course of the conference that the more the church has ignored or rejected Genesis, the more we have seen the church and the culture of the once-Christian west reject other doctrines as well.

The Answers in Genesis Creation Conference is a free event. All are welcome. For service times and lecture schedule visit www.ccob.org.

On Sexual Immorality, Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus!

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – The world has lost its mind on the issue of human sexuality. Easily half the visible Church has gone apostate over the matter. People no longer have an anchor and no longer know what to believe and why.

In the face of the wholesale sanctioning of gross sexual immorality in our culture, Mastering Life Ministries has issued a statement on the biblical model for human sexual expression – behavior that pleases God rather than brings judgment – and is inviting everyone to read and sign the statement.

Take your stand with Christian leaders & laypersons from around the world and add your name to this document. It is a summary of biblical teaching on human sexuality, composed by Dr. David Kyle Foster (M-Div-Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; D-Min-Trinity School for Ministry).

Read and download a pdf of the document at the link below. If it represents your personal beliefs and/or those of your church, ministry or organization, add your name to hundreds of others at …….

https://www.masteringlife.org/resources/morality-statement

We are hoping for tens of thousands of Christian leaders, laypeople, and media outlets to get on board. It is a vital witness to God’s truth for those who are unschooled or confused by what the world and the apostate church have been teaching.

Let’s speak out! As the prophets of old learned, whether the world follows God’s design or not, a witness must be borne to satisfy all righteousness.

The declaration reads as follows…….

Religious Declaration on Human Sexual Morality

Human sexual (genital) behavior is intended by God to be expressed solely within the confines of heterosexual, monogamous marriage. Since God is love, sexual activity can only be considered a true act of love when carried out within these parameters, clearly established by God in His Holy Word (the Bible).

Sexual intercourse is to be the same giving act that it represents – which is Jesus Christ’s union with His Bride, the Church. It is two becoming one flesh – physically, spiritually and emotionally – the ultimate end of the separating of Eve from Adam’s side.

It is a procreative and pleasure-giving act that may bear the fruit of children. It is a cause for the continuation of the human race and a bonding agent for the love shared between husband and wife. When done out of love by two spiritually healthy human beings, it will enhance the well- being and solidify the growing oneness of man and wife.

God purposed in creation that human sexual interaction be a reflection of that ultimate marriage to which He has called us – that between God and man / between Christ and the Church.

Just as God remains faithful, undivided and undeflected from His commitment to man, so this central act in marriage must remain equally faithful, undivided and undeflected – exemplifying the love, the trust and the commitment of a spouse to his/her marital partner.

Fidelity to God’s blueprint for human sexual behavior is integral to healthy human spirituality.

The proscriptions on human sexual behavior established by God in His Holy Word (the Bible) are positive and life-giving. They are designed to bring both maximum glory to God and to be protective measures for those who might otherwise try to find life and fulfillment in alternative sexual behavior, which can only bring death and destruction. As such, they are an expression of God’s perfect love and desire to protect those He has created.

Any deflection from these intended purposes of the Creator God is rebellion against the wisdom and goodness of God and sets one at enmity with Him until that person has repented of their actions and come into agreement once again with God’s design. The idea that man has the right to chose his own methods of sexual expression flies in the face of everything taught in sacred Scripture.

For those who find themselves caught in an aberrant sexual lifestyle, God offers the atoning death of His Son, Jesus Christ, which brings forgiveness, cleansing, healing and transforming power. Jesus did not come to condemn mankind, but to save any and all who would come to Him for cleansing.

We are Speaking Out

  • We are speaking out against the attempts by those in secular and religious communities who seek to overturn and redefine the clear teachings of the Bible, to make it appear as though sexual behavior outside of the bounds described above is somehow normal and blessed by God. There has been a clear and unbroken Judeo-Christian, scriptural witness on these matters for over thirty-five hundred years.
  • We are speaking out against the impression being given by a minority of religious and media figures that their version of sexual morality is consistent with the biblical witness and/or accepted by the Church.
  • We are speaking out against the unchecked confusion and division sown in the Church by such apostles of immorality.
  • We are speaking out against the death and destruction that such teachings have brought to our culture and the confusion that it has sown in our children.
  • We are speaking out against any sex education program that would teach such ideas to our young people.
  • We are speaking out against the impression given by some that those who support biblical definitions of morality hate those who refuse to accept or live by them.

We Stand in Opposition

  • We oppose any and all efforts to normalize or sanctify homosexual behavior, to advocate or bless homosexual marriages or to ordain those who engage in homosexual behavior.
  • We oppose any attempt to stigmatize or reject persons who are turning to Christ for forgiveness, healing and transformation who have been struggling with their sexual orientation.
  • We oppose any suggestion that they are lesser or more sinful human beings than anyone else. They are welcome in the Church.
  • We oppose any and all attempts to normalize or sanctify heterosexual immorality, including the use of pornography or prostitutes, adulterous or other non-marital sexual relationships or any other behavior outside of healthy, heterosexual, marital monogamy.
  • We oppose the taking of a human life in its mother’s womb or any other form of abortion.

We Call Out

  • We call for people to return to the God of the Bible, through His Son Jesus Christ.
  • We call for people to return to God’s design for human behavior (sexual and otherwise) as found in the Holy Bible.
  • We call for people to seek and receive from God Almighty the forgiveness, the cleansing, the deliverance and the healing that they need as a result of their unnatural sexual behavior.
  • We call for people to seek and receive from God the desire and the power to walk in His ways.
  • We call for those in government to honor the institution of marriage as it has been held for thousands of years by keeping it restricted to heterosexual, monogamous unions.
  • We call for government to resist the legitimization of alternative sexual lifestyles in creating civil unions for couples who do not qualify for marriage.
  • We call for our educational system to remove sex education materials that promote promiscuity, homosexual behavior or any other sexual behavior outside of traditional marriage.
  • We call for the producers and distributors of every form of media communication to resist the temptation to fatten their coffers by continuing to spread the toxic message of sexual immorality.
  • We call for religious leaders to stand firm against the tide of moral relativism and to remain faithful to God’s Holy Word.
  • We call for religious leaders to refuse to ordain those who engage in homosexual or non-marital heterosexual activity.
  • We call for those leaders and laity in the Church who have not yet done so, to extend the same hand of love and grace to the repentant sinner that Christ has extended, and to repent from any condescending or hateful attitudes that they have held toward those who struggle with unholy sexual temptations.
  • We call for religious leaders to refuse to bless what God calls sin, including homosexual unions, but to instead invite those who struggle with unholy sexual desire to the same fount of forgiveness and healing as everyone else – even Jesus Christ, the Lord.

New Devotional Offers Daily Help for Christians in Difficult Relationships

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Yorba Linda, November 9, 2020 — When Karla Downing, a Christian marriage & family therapist, was looking for a daily devotional to help her navigate difficult relationships in her life, she couldn’t find one based on biblical truths. Downing knew the need for resources for Christians in difficult relationships and dedicated her life’s work to writing and teaching. Downing’s ministry is motivated by the conflicts she sees between the guidance found in Christian relationship books and what the Bible says.

Downing’s new devotional, Change My Relationship: 365 Daily Devotions for Christians in Difficult Relationships (ChangeMyRelationship, 2020), is her fourth book. The devotional includes the 10 Relationship-Changing Principles she teaches in her books and classes, as well as recovery slogans, the correction of common biblical misunderstandings, and many additional practical tools. It is helpful for any difficult relationship including marriage, parents, children, ex-spouses, co-workers, friends and more. There is a topical index so that readers can also search for the specific guidance they need to read on any particular day.

“God has given her the gift of insight, and she uses it to apply Scripture to real-life situations. Her professional and personal experience give her the ability to understand and empathize deeply with people,” say Don and Alexandra Flecky, authors of Couple Talk and Shepherds of Marriage and Relationships at Fullerton Free Church.

Karla Downing is the author of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association 2004 Silver Medallion Award winner, 10 Lifesaving Principles for Women in Difficult Marriages. Her second book, When Love Hurts: 10 Principles to Transform Difficult Relationships, applies the same principles to all family members. Her third book, The Truth in the Mirror: A Guide to Healthy Self-Image, offers a unique and life-changing approach to looking at self-image. She is the author of several eBooks and hundreds of articles on relationship issues, including LifeWay International articles focused on training women’s ministry leaders to help women struggling in difficult relationships. Through the changing face of worship services

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – As a whole, most of us do not like change and that also includes the church. But because of Covid-19, churches have had to change to adapt to this pandemic. No longer being able to meet in person has changed how they provide church services. But this negative has been turned into a positive because now through technology (Youtube, streaming, podcasts etc), the church is now able to spread the message of Jesus Christ through technology to those outside of their congregation.

Now that we have realized that the use of modern technology can be used to provide church services, we need to consider how technology can also enhance our worship services.

There is no denying that our culture today is dominated by images in our everyday life. And like the old saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Because images are part of our everyday life and they can convey a message better than words, we need to explore more possible ways to affect a person’s understanding of the gospel and God’s love through how we worship.

One of the ways to present a more effective worship service, is to consider using more visualization. By using the visual arts alongside our worship songs, we are able to connect the message of the song more effectively. The use of the visual arts with a worship song is often referred to as “Visual Worship

I saw this explanation of visual worship on the internet and I think it sums it up beautifully “Visual worship is not about what your eyes see, it is about how our mind and heart and spirit connect with and respond to God through those things our eyes see.”

Worshiplibrary.com had this to say about visual worship “Christian worship is an inherently visual event. Both the setting and the actions of worship need to be seen as well as heard. Contemporary North American culture is becoming image dominated. Television, film, photography, advertising, and computerized graphics are shifting the balance of communicative power between word and image. The visual arts in worship can not be avoided or ignored in the present age. They are an important means of communication with God for artist and participant, drawing worshipers into the story of faith in effective and spiritual ways.”

Because of the changing times and the fact that some people are unable to understand or connect to a worship song, I believe our churches need to consider using visual worship as a way to spread the message of the gospel.

I created a website called www.visual-worship.com that uses carefully crafted images and videos along with worship songs. By creating these worship music videos, I am giving churches a way to apply visual worship to their worship service.

If you think your church could benefit from the use of visual worship, please visit www.visual-worship.com.

LA, California Superior Court – County of Los Angeles vs Grace Community Church – John MacArthur (Pastor)

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Last week, a hearing was held in the courtroom of Judge Gregory W. Alarcon regarding an ex-parte application for contempt and for sanctions against Grace Community Church of the Valley specifically naming John MacArthur as the defendant. The County of Los Angeles gave the church a one day notice to appear in court regarding the filing of contempt and request for sanctions against the church and pastor John MacArthur.

Appearing for the defense was Charles Limandri and Jenna Ellis. The County’s attorney Amnon Siegel argued that the church was violating the Sept. 4th preliminary injunction court order by continuing to hold services in excess of 3000 people, not wearing masks, or practicing social distancing. The hearing began with confusion because new judge Alarcon asked why the case was moved to his court from the courtroom of Judge Mitchell Beckloff. There was an hour and a half delay in the proceedings while the County prepared a reason for the change of venue.

The County explained that the new court was assigned because the case may be heard there and was available. Attorney Siegel stated that the church was in violation of Judge Beckloff’s order and that indirect contempt proceedings were appropriate. He said the church was committing a willful violation and announced their intentions to violate the order on TV, radio, and social media. He said the defendants were defying the health department order by Munto Davis, M.D., and the 18 page preliminary injunction court order of Judge Beckloff.

The defense argued that the church and pastor were exercising their 1st Amendment rights under the US Constitution and by the authority of God. Attorney Limandri said the church was entitled to a full hearing with witnesses, discovery, a jury, and a full trial on the merits due to the serious nature of the allegations. Limandri said your chances were greater of dying in an accident on the way to church instead of dying from the Corona Virus. He cited statistics regarding the “flattening of the curve” and that no one at Grace Community Church has died because of the virus despite 9 consecutive church services held there.

Limandri stated “As far as we’re concerned this is all political. Never in the history of the US has anyone asked the court to ban church services.” He also argued that the County was retaliating against the church by ending their parking lease with the county who didn’t deny that was the reason. He also lambasted the LA County Board of Supervisors stating they made a ludicrous argument for closing down the church.

County Attorney Siegel responded by stating that Grace Community Church has fulfilled the four elements of contempt; first by knowledge of the order, ability to comply, failure to comply, and open defiance of the court. He said the church does not get to violate the order simply because they think its erroneous. Defense attorney Limandri further responded by saying the rules on shutdowns had become a moving target constantly changing week by week with some businesses open such as gyms, strip clubs, and nail salons, while attempting to keep the church closed.

He also asked why local protests had not been shut down but instead encouraged by the Board of Supervisors. Attorney Jenna Ellis ended the church’s argument by stating “The Constitution is not a side show.” Attorney Siegel then stated that her statement was a mischaracterization of his argument. Judge Alarcon ended the hearing with “I will get a ruling out soon.” Status of the case is pending as of 4:00 p.m. today.

Dr Tony Lewis launches Pastoral Counseling “An Introduction to Pastoral Care”

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – We find much of mental illness, or the inability to cope in a healthy way with stress, is rooted in family dynamics. Children learn by watching their parents; they watch their reactions when stressed. For example, one client frequently watched her mom and dad drink heavily and then sink into depression leading to violence every two weeks or so, right after dad came home with an insignificant paycheck. Along with learned behavior from long term exposure to traumatic incidents, others become trapped in a mindset which they have learned. Counseling can show them alternatives. It can often be a long and arduous process. Knowing how to help in an effective manner is a skill that can be taught… and that is the purpose of this book.

Pastoral Counseling (ISBN-13: 979-8663124584) Trade Paper, $17.99; 252 pages, from Vision Publishing www.booksbyvision.org, and is also available from amazon.com and www.tvlewisbooks.com. New Alliance Fights to End Veteran Suicide

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – TAMPA, Florida – Partnering with the White House and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), several nonprofits have come together to form the Faith Based Veteran Service Alliance (FBVSA) in order to make a global impact in the fight against veteran suicide.

“Today, more than ever, our veterans need our support,” said Dr. Damon Friedman, former Air Force special operator, President of Shield of Faith Missions and Co-Chairman of FBVSA. “Not only may they be facing issues like post-traumatic stress (PTS) or traumatic brain injury (TBI), which already leaves them feeling lost and alone, but now we face a very scary time in our country due to the COVID-19 virus. The isolation they already feel, on top of possibly having to quarantine due to the virus, makes them especially vulnerable. We want to help every veteran possible.”

On June 17, the White House announced the rollout of the PREVENTS Task Force Roadmap to empower veterans and end the national tragedy of suicide. President Donald Trump said this roadmap expands White House and VA’s partnerships to include those with faith-based leaders to establish specialized support systems for our veterans.

Chad Robichaux, founder of The Mighty Oaks Foundation and Co-Chairman of FBVSA attended the White House briefing. “President Trump said ending the tragedy of veteran suicide demands bold action at every level of society. FBVSA is an alliance devoted to bold action. There is hope, and a solution found through a multitude of faith-based non-profit organizations providing life-saving programs. Our military warriors face many issues, but together we are bringing the solution.” said Robichaux.

Made up of SOF Missions, Mighty Oaks Warrior Program, The Warrior’s Journey, All Things Possible, Reboot Recovery, Soul Survivor Outdoor, and Roever Foundation; the alliance will offer guidance and consultation to the DoD and VA for the implementation of best practices in care for our veterans.

The charter members of the FBVSA are active in all 50 states, have more than 1,000 volunteers, served more than 750,000 active duty and veterans served, connected with more than 50 other VSOs, organized more than 4000 events/programs across the country and have over 6 million engaged audience members and 3 billion impressions on social media.

Degel Menashe Launch COVID Crisis Relief Effort

Group of Olim from Northeast India Also Launch New Grassroots Website To Share Their Story and Build Community – DegelMenashe.org

FAITH NEWSWIRE – Tel Aviv, Israel — Today, the B’nei Menashe community leaders in Israel announced the successful launch of a crisis relief effort to aid members of the B’nei Menashe Jewish community in Northeast India. The organization has raised sufficient funds to provide 14 tons of staples to the locked-down region. The food was distributed to community members waiting to be allowed to make Aliyah to Israel. Photos can be seen in the news section on the recently launched community website www.DegelMenashe.org.

The group is now raising additional funds to deliver more desperately needed staples like rice. Fundraising has been led by the Jewish Federation of New Mexico and the non-profit organization Scattered Among the Nations.

Degel Menashe is a non-profit organization recently launched to help the B’nei Menashe community of Israel and those members in Northeastern Indian states of Manipur and Mizoram. Information on the community, its origins, and its current activities can be found at www.DegelMenashe.org.

“Our community has been emigrating to Israel since the 1980s and today there are more than 5,000 B’nei Menashe in Israel with 4,000 still waiting in Northeast India to join us,” said Isaac Thangjom, the Degel Menashe Project Director and a 1998 immigrant to Israel.

Thangjom continued, “Our statement of purpose calls for assisting the B’nei Menashe community in Israel by encouraging its integration in Israeli society, advancing it educationally and vocationally, helping to develop its younger, Israeli-born generation, and working to preserve its cultural heritage, and in India, by strengthening its institutions and furthering its immigration to Israel by all possible means.”

The new Degel Menashe website will serve as a home for information about the B’nei Menashe community and developments in it. Key among them at the present moment is the COVID relief effort. However, the site also features news items and articles dealing with all other features of B’nei Menashe life in Israel and India. Degel Menashe also posts frequently on its Facebook page.

Degel Menashe Boardmember and noted author Hillel Halkin said, “The B’nei Menashe, who trace their disputed origins thousands of years back to the biblical tribe of Manasseh, have written and are writing a small but unique chapter in Jewish history. Degel Menashe seeks to be part of it. We would like others to know about us and to join us in our efforts.”

More information on the B’nei Menashe community and information on how to donate to the relief effort can be found at www.DegelMenashe.org. The site also features information about the Oral History project, musicology project, vocational fellowships, and working with the elderly.

About Degel Menashe

Degel Menashe grew out of an oral history project, involving hundreds of hours of interviews with elderly B’nei Menashe in Israel, which was begun in 2017 under the sponsorship of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico. This project sparked the idea of founding an organization for the purpose of assisting the B’nei Menashe communities in Israel and India in meeting the many challenges facing them. With this in mind, Degel Menashe was established in 2019 and recognized in the same year as a Non-Profit Organization by the Corporations Authority of Israel.

Why Degel Menashe

Degel means a flag in Hebrew, and our name of “Menashe’s Flag” derives from the account in the book of Numbers of how, when the twelve tribes of Israel camped around the tabernacle in the desert, each flew its own standard. The emblem on that of the tribe of Menashe, according to Jewish tradition, was the re’em or oryx, a long-pronged antelope known for its strength and beauty. We have made it our logo.

Teens can now bring hope and encouragement of the Gospel to their friends “virtually” through the Life in 6 Words app

Dare 2 Share Ministries’ Life in 6 Words mobile app now allows students to share the Gospel in their own words, from the safety of their own homes.

FAITH NEWSWIRE – Arvada, CO— Much has changed in the past few weeks, leaving, many people’s lives in turmoil and confusion. Remarking on how this pandemic has impacted teenagers, Greg Stier, the founder of Dare 2 Share stated, “We are living at a time where teen anxiety and depression are being accelerated like never before because of the Coronavirus pandemic”

Connection is more important than ever, yet harder and harder to find, leaving many people searching for some kind of comfort. With this in mind, Dare 2 Share Ministries has built an Audio Story function into the Life in 6 Words mobile app, so that teens can engage their friends with the conversation that matters most – the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Armed with a way to share their faith in an audio format, this opens up a world of possibilities for students to bring hope to their friends while getting their minds off of their own situation.

Focusing their attention outward can be extremely healthy for students. Echoing this idea, Greg Stier said, “When the Christian teenagers in our youth groups are mobilized to reach out to their unbelieving friends with the message of Jesus, not only do they bring hope to the hopeless, but they grow spiritually in the process!”

On April 11, 2020, Dare 2 Share released its latest update for the Life in 6 Words mobile app with the Audio Story feature that explains the gospel in their own voice to friends across the street or around the world. This latest feature creates an app that gives believing students the tool to engage in spiritual conversations, pray for unsaved friends and family, and set up groups of like-minded teens who all want to bring the hope of Jesus to this world.

“We wanted to give teens a way to have gospel conversations in the midst of this pandemic, and that’s exactly what this new feature allows.” said Debbie Bresina, President Dare 2 Share.

During this time of unprecedented turmoil, people are more open to the good news of Jesus than any time in recent history. Now with the Life in 6 Words app, students can bring hope and encouragement to their world, without having to leave their homes.

The Life in 6 Words app is free to download and can be found on both Apple’s App Store and Google play.

Bible Study Media Gives Away Hope, New Life in a Time of Need

  • Christian publisher offers contents of newly launched book via online community platform
    • New online community offers free content by other authors

HOUSTON – April 16, 2020Bible Study Media (BSM), a Christian curriculum publishing ministry and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, announced today it will offer content from one of their recently launched books to the public at no cost through their new online community platform.

“We are living in unique and unprecedented times. However, the reason for what we do hasn’t changed,” said BSM President, The Rev. Charlie Holt. “It is our desire that hearts would be ignited and minds would be engaged in the Scriptures, both in the context of one’s own community of faith and with the global Church at large during this time. In response to the hardships brought on by this global pandemic, we want to offer our content for free.”

Beginning, Sunday, April 19, the newly launched book, A Living Hope: A Study of 1 Peter, will be available on BSM’s new online community free of charge. The Easter Bible study, authored by emerging Christian speaker and author Sarah Viggiano Wright, currently ranks number one on Amazon’s list of Anglican Christian new releases.

While you can still purchase the entire A Living Hope series, the author said that offering the Bible course for free through an online community platform is her way of serving during a time when so many are searching for hope, meaning, and connection.

“I think a lot of us are asking ourselves, How can I find hope today? Where can I go to soften the blows of the hardships from today? Or how can I simply get through the day?” said Wright. “My prayer is that through this study of 1 Peter, believers will become utterly convinced that Jesus is the only sure, true, incorruptible, and permanent hope. His is the only promise you can cling to that guarantees a brighter future will come.”

By visiting https://members.biblestudymedia.com/, users will be asked to provide sign-up details to become a member. Once members enter the community landing page they will have immediate access to the six-week Bible course which includes: daily devotionals, teaching videos, questions for online group discussions, memory verses, and opportunities to participate in video conferencing events with the author. Members have the option to take the Bible study as a self-study, with a small group, or with their church.

In addition to A Living Hope: A Study of 1 Peter, BSM is offering at no cost within the same community network another Easter-season Bible study called The Resurrected Life: Making All Things New, written by BSM president The Rev. Charlie Holt. In the coming weeks, BSM will offer the two other studies in their signature Christian Life Trilogy Bible study curriculum at no charge, which include The Crucified Life and The Spirit-filled Life, also authored by Holt.

In the midst of COVID-19, a new book tells the story of hope and restoration

A book written during a time when “everything was going wrong’ is now released at a time when the whole world needs hope.

The Heart of Ruth, which has just been released by Ark House, was written by author Johanna Pascall when she was going through one of those seasons in her life when everything was going wrong. Now, her story might just be the one people need to hear as the entire world works out how to get through the turmoil that is the coronavirus.

The Heart of Ruth is a modern retelling of the Book of Ruth for young adult readers and many will relate, given their worlds have been turned upside down, literally overnight.

“At the heart of it is a story of hope and of restoration, which as it happens is so relevant to what’s going on in our world right now, given the global pandemic and the fear and hopelessness that is so prevalent right now,” Johanna stated.

“I wrote the book during a time when I was going through my own storm in my life. Everything was going wrong with my job and finances, and at the same time, my husband suffered depression. I went through a journey of being angry with God, then realizing His love, grace and comfort during these times. I didn’t want to waste this experience so I asked God what He wanted me to do and He responded with a quiet whisper, ‘You’re going to write about Ruth in today’s world for young adult readers.’”

Thus the idea for a fantastic new book was birthed. The story of Ruth is so close to the world we are living in right now. For many of us, life has been going along just fine. Most had big plans for 2020 and the new decade – and within a few short months, our world has been rocked by a pandemic that has threatened to go into a recession – at best. Ruth’s life mirrored this and she had to turn to her god to get her through tumultuous times.

“I had always liked the story of Ruth and sometimes wondered what biblical figures would be like in today’s world, but I had never really thought about putting these two together and writing a book about it,” Johanna told me. “So I read Ruth and suddenly, within a few hours, I had the entire plot and chapter by chapter breakdown.

“What really drew me to this story is the overarching message that there is hope, even when life takes an unexpected turn – when you’ve lost so much, don’t think you have a future, when life is tough, when things aren’t going the way you’d planned – there is hope, just keep going and eventually it will turn around. Just don’t give up. In the book, Ruth had everything but she losses it all, and even though life is hard, she kept going and at the end, she found her purpose in life and as a bonus, she also found true love.”

Readers of The Heart of Ruth will discover subjects such as dealing with depression, managing tricky family dynamics, and how to find self worth. Ruth saw herself as the hopeless one in a very gifted family, however she finds that she has something to offer the world after all when she finds her passion and purpose in life.

“It’s so timely that this message is heard during this time,” continued Johanna. “Life is tough already for teenagers and young adults, and now with the overlay of a pandemic, many are now isolated from their friends, so they are without their normal support and comfort structure. In addition, many young people are losing their jobs as a result of lockdowns and the economic effects of the pandemic. It’s important to me that as many young people read this story of hope. I worry that depression and suicide is already a real issue in teens and young adults as it was, and the overlay of this current pandemic will only exacerbate this.”

The Heart of Ruth is now available globally.

April 18 – 19 designated as “Just Pray NO!” to drugs worldwide weekend of prayer and fasting

The weekend of April 18 – 19, 2020 has been designated as the 30th Annual “Just Pray NO!” to drugs Worldwide Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for the addicted and their families.

Since April 7th, 1991 “Just Pray NO!” has united Christians around the world in intercessory prayer on behalf of those bound by alcoholism, drug addiction and other life controlling compulsions.

Addiction in America is an ever increasing national crisis! Millions of Americans have addictions. “According to data from the DEA, from 2006 through 2014, a total of 100 billion doses of oxycodone and hydrocodone were shipped to pharmacies across the country, and from there into households.” This has resulted in “770,000” opioid deaths, which has killed more Americans than all American wars combined.

The rising overdose numbers make the drug epidemic more deadly than gun violence, car crashes or HIV/AIDS!

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” –James 5:16

Not only is substance abuse America’s number one health problem, the devastation of alcoholism and other drug addiction has impacted families and communities worldwide. Substance abuse has been directly linked to violence and sexual immorality and is a major source of income for organized crime and terrorist activities.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” –Ephesians 6:12

Make a formal commitment to join with believers in Christ from around the globe this coming April. Put on the full armor of God and fervently pray in spirit and in truth. We are seeking to enlist millions of prayer warriors from around the world to join us in battle!

“We are not only praying for the release of those bound by substance abuse but also for people to be delivered from pornography, gambling, obesity and smoking,” said Steven Sherman, “Just Pray NO!” founder.” We seek individuals and groups which are willing to commit to pray weekly on behalf of the addicted and their families, and then join with multitudes of other committed Christians from around the world in prayer and fasting April 18 – 19, 2020.”

If you believe that God is calling you to intercede for the addicted please contact us. Building God’s Way Seminars show ministry leaders how to create an “Embedded Church” Facility

For immediate release: August 15, 2019

Building God’s Way (BGW), an organization that provides a network of services to support faith-based organizations, will be hosting seminars in 10 cities this fall. The events will focus on effective strategies for churches to maximize the use of their buildings in order to offset overhead costs and meet community needs 7 days a week. Seminar stops include Modesto, CA; Oceanside, CA; Lincolnshire, IL; Janesville, WI; Atlanta, GA; Charleston, SC; Louisville, KY; Middleburg, OH; Spokane, WA and Richmond, VA.

Experts in church architecture, construction, church leadership and funding will share how ministries can reduce the cost of their next facility expansion or remodel project by up to 30%. BGW Principal Architect Don Mahoney will share some key design principles for churches to consider for their new or existing facility that will help bring people to their campus who may not be looking for Jesus, but who might later realize that Jesus is looking for them. “In order for churches to thrive in the 21st century, we believe they must be willing to put their community first. Strategic master planning and design can help optimize community impact – 7 days a week!”, Mahoney said.

Matt Roberts, Senior Pastor of The Genesis Project Church and CEO of The Genesis Fund National Church Planting Network, will share some keys from his book, The God of New Beginnings, that can help churches create a culture that allows people to belong before they believe. “Community doesn’t just happen by accident”, said Roberts. “We must break ground and cultivate a culture that invites people in. We must come to a place where we truly believe there is no “us and them”, there is just…us”.

Church facilities have traditionally been among the least utilized buildings in America, sitting empty throughout most of the week. Derek Bartlett, Director of Mission-Based Sustainable Solutions, will share how churches can build financially sustainable forms of ministry that allow them to invest more of their resources into their actual mission, while creating a catalyst for ministry growth.

“Great information and exactly what our Church needed as we navigate through the complicated process of expanding our Ministry Center. A no nonsense approach towards becoming an embedded church in our community along with an in-depth look at how to move through the process of building, with an emphasis on integrity and accountability at every phase.” – Bill Meadows, Farmdale Church of the Nazarene, Louisville, KY

For more information, visit bgwservices.com/seminar or call 800-752-7910.

Building God’s Way (BGW) is an organization that was founded with the mission to transform the “world’s way” of design & construction by delivering the best possible stewardship of ministry resources. An industry leader in church architecture, BGW Architects has designed more than 850 ministry buildings throughout the U.S. Over the years, BGW has continued to expand beyond architecture into a network of kingdom building solutions to meet a wide range of ministry needs, with strategic partners in the areas of construction, building supply, funding & financial services, for-profit integration, strategic planning and more.

On Christchurch, why Christians are part of the human family first and foremost

Media Release

First, Christians everywhere stand with all New Zealanders at both the outrage and shock at what happened in Christchurch last Friday and we send our condolences to the families of those who died and are seriously injured in these senseless attacks.

Secondly, we are troubled that the rise in many countries, New Zealand included, of a form of ‘nationalism’ that claims to be based on Christian roots, and that carries references to ‘Christian values’ or ‘Christian heritage’.

I would like to clarify that most Christians in NZ believe that Christian values are not compatible with anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic and xenophobic discourses. Nationalism, when it stirs up a sense of victimhood, grievance, and blame against other groups in society, when it stokes fear and hatred of ‘the other’, is anything but Christian.

We believe that Christianity means loving our neighbours and welcoming the stranger. We have to admit that over the centuries, we have failed this principle and at times we have failed miserably. But the principle still stands and continues to inspire believers across the globe.

In order to counter rising nationalist populism, we have to recognize that before being citizens of any country, we all belong to the human family, made up of people from every tribe, tongue, and nation around the world.

While we affirm the right and need for every nation to provide for its own security, we are concerned that so-called Christian values have been leveraged to foster hatred, and discrimination against those adhering to other religions, or from other nationalities and regions of the world.

We would like to reaffirm the unique value of each and every “member of the human family”, as stated in the Universal Declaration for Human Rights. Without such a bedrock, democracy is at best the rule of the majority, and at worst the rule of the mob.
