In a literary world teeming with tales of love and loss, debut author Thomas Trezise takes readers on an unforgettable journey that transcends the mundane and pierces the veil between heaven and earth. His novel, “Former Things Forgotten,” is set to release this month available where ever books are sold.

Crafted with eloquence and infused with profound spiritual insight, “Former Things Forgotten” presents the riveting tale of Tessa Gibbs, a fiery, red-headed woman yearning for escape from her harsh Appalachian life. Her journey takes her from the mountains of Eastern Tennessee, fueled by a desperate need to break free from her father’s oppressive religiosity, into a world that challenges her in ways she never anticipated.

Trezise’s narrative style paints a vivid picture of Tessa’s struggles, as she navigates the complexities of life, faith, and personal identity. However, unbeknownst to Tessa, her soul carries the weight of a celestial rebellion, a forgotten existence that echoes her earthly conflict. The ensuing battle for her soul forms the core of this compelling narrative, a story that explores the profound implications of the choices we make.

The author brings his unique perspective as a retired lawyer, Methodist lay preacher, and corporate executive to this powerful exploration of faith, freedom, and human resilience. Raised in Appalachia, Trezise infuses his narrative with the authenticity of his own experiences, offering readers a glimpse into the heart and soul of a region often misunderstood.

Thomas Trezise’sFormer Things Forgotten” will be available for download for free on Amazon for 5 days from February 20, 2024 through February 24, 2024. Former Things Forgotten” is highly rated by those who have purchased the book. Here’s what just two of the reviewers have said:

Rich allegory throughout both sub-plots. The way the sub-plots converge has an element of surprise but also a feeling of ‘well, of course.’ Trezise displays a deep empathy and respect for Appalachia and its people. More than a story about faith, Former Things Forgotten offers a keen perspective–without trying to convince or convert–on what it means to have a personal relationship with God and the meaning of free will. A fairly quick read but you might catch yourself going back and re-reading various chapters–as the storyline progresses, it hints at things you may have missed in earlier reading. Don’t resist the urge to go back…it’s worth it.
