I was swept into the world of Alderdale from the very first chapter. The author has created a lush, war-torn kingdom filled with heart, danger, and beautifully layered truth. It has a few faith based references but nothing “in your face” or offensive to non-Christians… I especially loved how the story weaves themes of identity, sacrifice, and choosing the light when shadows press in. The emotional depth surprised me, and there were several moments that made me pause to breathe it in. It’s rare to find a fantasy that balances action, heart, and wisdom so gracefully… This was a richly imagined read that left me thinking about the characters long after the ending. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
