FAITH NEWS SERVICEBeyond the Music: An Insight into the heavenly realm when we worship God.

Margaret Pickstone-Dark was brought up during the 1950-1960’s in Australia. She was dominated by a strict religious group, which came with ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ to live by until her late teens. After being released from this group, she searched for the presence of God.

She studied piano and singing and became passionate about teaching when she reached her 40’s. As she worshipped God with music, she began to see action in the heavenly realms and realised there was so much more that God wanted to reveal to His people as they opened up to Him.

Year after year, the words of the scripture from Matthew 21:13: My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations activated Margaret to pursue the house of prayer. When God led her to a Prayer and Fasting Mountain in South Korea, where she experienced an open heaven, her journey with God changed dramatically.

From praying with hundreds of thousands of Christians in South Korea, tens of thousands in Turkey and Indonesia, alone on a roof top in India, and then fighting fires in the Australian bush, before battling slippery roads and flooded streams, Margaret has learned that the power we carry as worshippers, when put into practice, can do remarkable exploits through God’s enabling.

Also carrying a burden for the lost and a heart for harvest, Margaret took Jesus’ words of: “go out into all the world and preach the good news” seriously, and spent time travelling on teams to India, Philippines and Israel.

Over the years she kept a journal of the times spent with the Lord and adventures He had taken her on. After her mother died in 1993, she began to write prolifically to cope with her grief. This was the time that she began writing Beyond the Music, her powerful new book, without realising at the time that it would one day be published and available to the outside world. Also during that period of time, she studied counselling and behavioural science, which helped her to minister to those with needs. Sharing the gospel outside the four walls of the church along with praying and caring for the sick, was a priority in her life for many years.

Margaret has been a forerunner in worship and warfare: teaching and imparting, inspiring and discipling, and bringing heaven’s sound to people in many places. After leading many prayer groups in towns and remote areas in Australia, her passion is to see the united body of Christ rise up in the type of prayer that moves mountains.

Her vision in God is seeing that people understand they are born to worship God, and realise  that nothing can compare with the joy and satisfaction He brings as we sit in His presence. This book is her first published work, and is about what pleases God and how the reader can achieve His purpose for their lives. It shows how to be aware of the unseen realm of beauty and action in heavenly places that we can enter into.

It is written for everyone who loves the Lord, to encourage every reader to be aware of their gifts and talents that God can use to accomplish His plan.

Throughout the pages of Beyond the Music, Margaret has amazingly articulated and displayed, through many real life experiences, the necessity and importance of a life lived in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. There is much to glean from every chapter, and readers will be left in no doubt that a life consecrated to Christ, and a walk of holiness, is truly a powerful weapon against the enemy of our souls.

If you feel there is an empty well inside of you,. or you just want more of God, then this book is for you. As the body of Christ we must connect with the Spirit of God for these end times. Beyond the Music is inspirational. It is not another book of prayer formulas and patterns; it is written by intertwining prayer and worship experiences that ushers in the presence of God and fullness of joy, leading to revival.

The book outlines God’s glorious plan of restoration of His church and kingdom. It invites the reader to look beyond the natural circumstances of life and into the spiritual realms, where God is. Beyond the Music will also encourage the reader to come into their full potential in the Holy Spirit, laying down a foundation of worship ordained by God, and use it as a weapon against the powers of darkness.

Margaret lived a single life until she married Peter Dark in 2020. They both live in the Hunter Valley, Australia. Both are passionate about serving God wherever He leads. Beyond the Music, published by Ark House, is now available globally.
