FAITH NEWS SERVICE – In The Quest for Family, author Jessica Clancy takes the reader through her life’s journey traveling from a path of brokenness to a place of wholeness in Christ. The book explores how God made beauty from ashes and helped her find spiritual renewal and enlightenment.
During her turbulent childhood, her free-spirited mother prioritized her own fun and happiness over Jessica’s, which exposed her to many forms of abuse.
Forming lasting friendships was impossible as she had to move from city to city and from one country to another, as her mother kept divorcing and remarrying different men. Her traumatizing journey began from birth, but she didn’t allow it to define her, managing to overcome numerous challenges while promoting a life of selflessness toward others.
Through her faith in Christ, Jessica eventually transformed from a lonely and vulnerable child to someone who now gives hope to the hopeless.
Her touching true life story offers insights and practical advice about how to move on from trauma to live a fulfilled life, proving that you can still live a meaningful life despite passing through dysfunctional formative years.
The Quest for Family is now available from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. You can also connect with Jessica at jessicaclancyperseveres.com.

“This book was great! Written in such vivid detail and providing such inspiration. Jessica provides such a wonderful story/testimony of how transformative the love of God & Jesus Christ can be in one’s life despite the negativity and darkness that this world can bring.
“Jessica definitely went through a lot of hardships, neglect and abuse throughout her childhood at the hands of those that should be your safe haven on earth but in the end she realizes and lets the reader know that the only safe haven and constant love and positivity in our lives can only be found in the one that truly never abandons us, God/Jesus Christ.
“This book was easy to read and hard to put down. As a fellow dietitian, who has known Jessica from our classes at UH and from our profession, I am so proud of her for having the courage and fortitude to write such an inspirational book that will help give others hope and I am sure play a significant part in transforming others lives toward the love and acceptance of Our Heavenly Father.”

“I just finished reading my copy of The Quest for Family, by Jessica Clancy. Whew! If you haven’t already, please rush to get your copy on Amazon! This is an amazing story of struggle, triumph, trauma, healing, and most of all, faith. One never knows the trials experienced by another. Smiles worn in public cover the tracks of private tears. Compassion for others hides the abuses suffered in supposedly ‘safe places.’ ‘Safe places,’ like home, church, and family were anything but for the author of this raw, honest memoir.
“Many people would allow lesser events to lead them down a path of tragedy and unfulfilled purpose. Rather than become a cliché, Jessica sought escape from her living nightmares in the comforting arms of the Lord and those who truly believed in Him.
“Becoming a believer did not immediately bring about roses and lollipops or end the suffering she experienced. Her faith only increased with continued challenges. It became a rock that anchored her in the knowing acceptance that God would deliver her and one day provide her heart’s desire… a family to call her own.
“I salute Jessica’s bravery, not only for enduring the many hardships related in her first novel, but for having the courage to share her wounds and private battles with the world. My own personal issues seemed to pale in comparison to hers. As she requested at the end of her story, I have shared her novel, passing it on to someone else I felt would benefit from the encouragement found between the covers of The Quest for Family, by my friend, Jessica Clancy!”

“Quotes: “The pain that people inflict on us isn’t always about us; often, it’s related to the other person’s struggles and their unfinished work. As scary and painful as that was, I know now that Jesus was there. He saw me. he was in my story the whole time.”
“Review: For those new here I don’t rate memoirs.
“I feel like you cannot put a rating on someone’s life experience so I will only say that I definitely recommend if you like a good underdog story, or if you’ve experienced church hurt or struggle with your faith. The trials that Jessica faced through her life with the church and abuse from her parents was both heartbreaking and inspiring.
“Jessica brings you through the journey starting with her life as a child through adulthood.
“The constant moving and instability, the mental, emotional, and physical abuse at the hands and mouth of both her mom and stepdad. Even as a child she constantly had the perseverance to keep going, praying to God, leaning into Him and keeping a firm faith in what she believed in.
“Through her adulthood she experienced hurt, but also true redemption. From going through graduate school, finding the love of her life, to even finding forgiveness for those who had wronged her.
“She also brings you along through her struggles with infertility, pregnancy loss, the birth of her first child, and fostering.
“Her journey was truly inspiring to read, with lots of amazing life lessons.
“Thank you @jessicaclancyperseveres for sending me a copy of your book to read. You are truly an amazing woman.”
