‘Missions:Together’ to host Triangle gathering Nov. 2 to reignite passion for missions

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Raleigh, N.C. – Missions:Together will host its second annual regional gathering on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex, with a focus on what it means to live a life on mission with like-minded believers. The conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free lunch provided. It is a gathering for Great Commission-focused pastors, leaders and believers prepared to have their passion for missions reignited.

Missions:Together (M:T) will feature times of worship, practical teaching, action-oriented prayer, breakout sessions and opportunities to network with representatives from a spectrum of missions efforts, including Pioneer Bible Translators. With a number of Triangle churches represented, Missions:Together will feature Geoff Bradford, Christ the King, Raleigh; Walter Strickland, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary; Jono Darville, Peace Church, Cary; Pioneer Bible Translators’ JR Bucklew; Andrew Steier of Alwaysgoing.org; Greg Kelley of Unknown Nations; Tom Cox of West African Reformed Mission; and more.

This year’s theme is “Not a Competition,” which emphasizes unity over siloed ministry efforts, while providing practical strategies for churches to achieve mission acceleration. Main sessions will cover unity between congregations, competing together against darkness, joining efforts with parachurch ministries, and the goal of missions. Attendees can choose from five breakout sessions that cover missional living topics in different contexts.

At least 20 exhibitors will be present at the gathering, offering attendees multiple opportunities to serve in local and international settings. The organizations represent work in foster care, education, Christian media, public witness, Bible translation, Christian publishing and church planting, student outreach, and more.

Missions:Together is a missional mosaic of churches seeking to do just that.”

Ryan Doherty, pastor of prayer and mobilization at The Summit Church in Apex, said about the upcoming event, “When a united body of believers work together, we reflect the love of Christ and advance God’s mission with greater power and purpose.”

Pastors, church leaders, missions organization staff and other individuals are encouraged to bring teams, small groups and friends. There is no registration cost for the event, but participants are invited to contribute as they feel led.
