Years later, during a civil war in the Congo, Charles was kidnapped by unidentified armed men. While suffering mistreatment, a stranger intervened, advocating for his release—another divine intervention that saved his life.

A Journey of Faith and Calling

Now a permanent resident of Tasmania, Australia, Dr. Makoundi holds a PhD in Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania and a Diploma in Cross-Cultural Ministry. He is widely recognized for his prophetic ministry. Alongside his wife, he has served as a lead pastor and missionary, founding Jesus Power Ministry International in Malaysia before moving to Australia in 2010.

His spiritual journey was shaped by early hardships, including the death of his biological father when he was just 14. Wrestling with questions about God’s existence, Charles eventually found hope and identity in a God who, he discovered, is both powerful and deeply personal.

A Mission Powered by Faith

As a young missionary, Charles left Africa with his wife and only $210 to their name. They relocated to Malaysia by faith, where they served for 10 and half years. Despite having no scholarship, Charles completed a master’s degree by research, trusting God to supply the needed finances—another testimony of divine provision.
