A Whimsical Tale of Faith and Courage: The Kindhearted Raven Calls Readers to Authentic Living—Available to Download for Free Through November 15th
FAITH NEWS SERVICE – GILBERT, AZ —What if a single whisper from a dream could shape the rest of your life? In “The Kindhearted Raven” [Redemption Press], author A. R. Cecil invites readers into the tender, thought-provoking story of Willa Barrett—a woman whose childhood encounter with a talking raven plants a truth she’ll spend a lifetime learning to live: “Be yourself, and see what happens.”
From the time Willa is little, she’s tried to earn love and belonging—first from her distant father, and later from the inner circle at church led by the persuasive and perfection-driven Megan. When faith becomes tangled in people-pleasing and appearances, Willa must decide whether to stay silent or speak truth, even if it costs her the approval she’s worked so hard to gain.
Blending a touch of whimsy with deep spiritual insight, “The Kindhearted Raven” explores themes of identity, courage, and grace through a relatable story of one woman’s awakening to who God made her to be. Readers will recognize their own wrestle with insecurity and faith as Willa learns that being “good enough” was never the goal—freedom in Christ was.
With poetic language and imaginative storytelling, Cecil weaves a narrative that feels both intimate and universal. It’s fiction that lingers—inviting readers to examine the quiet ways perfectionism and approval can distort faith, and to rediscover the kindhearted voice of God calling them back to authenticity.
A.R. Cecil’s paperback is available on November 11, 2025; with the e-book free to download on Amazon for 5 days through November 15, 2025. Readers continue to share how profoundly “The Kindhearted Raven” has moved them. Here are just a couple of their reflections:

5 Stars God’s good is good enough
The Kindhearted Raven is one of those stories that stays with you long after you close the book. Through Willa’s journey, Cecil beautifully explores what it really means to find our worth in Christ, not in others’ opinions. Willa’s struggles felt so real, and her growth reminded me how God gently calls us to be authentic and brave in standing for truth. It’s an honest, heartfelt read that encourages Believers to let go of performance and lean fully into who God made us to be. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s ever felt the pressure to be “good enough.”
