You Were Made To Praise God

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – True praise comes from the heart and from observing nature. If all creation sings God’s praises, affirming His magnificent work, then why shouldn’t we?

Vicki L. Moag, the laughing, dancing, singing author of You Were Made to Praise God, believes everyone should join voices in praise to God. As a young girl, she traveled with her sisters singing at various events—and oh the stories she could share. She loves to sing to the Lord and encourages others to do the same. Moag’s desire is to “inspire children and to place music into their hands, hearts, and minds so they will praise God no matter where they are.”

Just as the birds offer their melodious notes or the fish swish in the sea, we humans can stomp, clap, shout, and sing praises to God. Whether the bird flaps its wings, sings, or gathers twigs, or the snake slithers through the grass, rattling in defense of being threatened, young or old we can all praise God by being ourselves and breathing His breath each and every day.

The joy of being able to sing praise to God alongside creation is one of the most rewarding benefits of living. If we are asked to pick up our toys, take out the trash, write a paper, or fix an engine, we can choose to play a part and praise God in the midst of our day.

You Were Made to Praise God is inspired by several psalms, and no matter the readers’ situation, age, culture, background, or social status, they can praise and thank the Lord of all creation because they are fearfully and wonderfully made. With printed music lyrics in the back of the book and a Vimeo link to hear the song, readers of all ages will enjoy this delightful book, and parents, grandparents, or teachers can sing along with their children.
