Hope and Healing from a Seasoned Voice: Pastor Kate Forsyth Equips You with Biblical Truth and Practical Tools

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – The Lord Who Heals You is a must-read, timely resource for anyone seeking to experience the healing that Jesus freely offers. Written with compassion and clarity by Pastor Kate Forsyth, this book is especially valuable for those who have struggled in the area of healing, offering hope and biblical insight, which has been drawn from decades of ministry experience.

Pastor Kate writes with the authority of someone who has not only taught on healing for over 30 years, but who has also witnessed countless miracles and transformations in people’s lives. Her heart for this book is to make accessible the same healing grace she has seen at work in ministry—now in written form to reach even more people.

Blending devotional depth with strong biblical teaching, The Lord Who Heals You unpacks key healing passages from Scripture. It invites readers to reflect on why the Holy Spirit highlighted specific stories of healing in the Gospels and what we are meant to learn from them today. Rather than focusing on her own powerful testimonies or those of others, Pastor Kate points readers to the testimonies the Holy Spirit chose to preserve in the Bible—those with timeless principles for faith, healing, and transformation.

With a background that includes teaching at the C3 (then Christian City Church) Healing School, C3 Bible College, and leading the healing service, with her husband Richard, for a decade at C3 Oxford Falls in Sydney, Australia, Pastor Kate brings deep theological understanding, together with pastoral sensitivity. A respected leader at C3 Church, she has trained many in healing ministry through C3 Bible College and has seen Jesus heal and bring miracles to many people.

Her previous book, A Picture of Health, laid out foundational truths about healing. In 2019, she also released a 21-day devotional on the YouVersion Bible App titled The Lord Who Heals You, which to date has garnered over 28,000 subscribers.

Through its pages, readers will find:

  • Clear teaching on the biblical doctrine of healing
  • Fresh insight into Gospel healing stories
  • Guidance on how to receive healing personally
  • Help navigating discouragement, doubt, or delay
  • Healing for the soul and freedom from spiritual attack
  • Training in how to minister healing to others

The Lord Who Heals You, published by Ark House, is now available globally.

“I wholeheartedly recommend this much-needed book for those seeking healing. Kate has been one of our most dedicated and impactful healing ministers over the 36 years she and her husband, Richard, have been part of our church. They led our healing service for 10 years and witnessed countless miracles—from cancer healings and restored eyesight to diabetes recovery and safe childbirths. Kate’s devotional on the YouVersion Bible App taught many to stand in faith and persevere through disappointment. In this expanded book, she unpacks the healing principles of Jesus with clarity and care, empowering readers to not only receive healing but to minister it to others.”

Dallas Theological Seminary brings story of scripture experience to Houston churches

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) is thrilled to announce that its nationwide Story of Scripture experience is coming to the greater Houston area Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. Nearly 100 Houston area churches are already represented in the live experience registration.

The Story of Scripture is a unique event in which Dr. Mark Yarbrough, president of the seminary, and other leading speakers present a two-day conference that immerses attendees in the major themes that weave all of Scripture together from Genesis through Revelation. But more importantly, the experience helps attendees understand their part in God’s great plan of redemption.

“The Scripture is pretty clear that God makes promises and keeps them,” says Dr. Yarbrough. “He reveals those promises in the pages of his Word, and offers his assurance to every believer that we can trust him unconditionally with the messiness of life.”

The Story of Scripture event will be conducted at Houston First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Fwy in Houston, Texas beginning at 6:00 PM Friday, May 2nd and concluding on Saturday evening, May 3rd around 6:00 PM.

Those interested in attending can register for only $99 at www.TheStoryofScripture.org, but space is limited and registration is on a first come first served basis.

Lunches, snacks and drinks are included with every registration as well as the conference workbook and many other resources to help attendees go deeper into their journey through God’s grand narrative.

“It is the greatest story ever told,” said Yarbrough, “and God offers a part in his plan to anyone who will receive it. We truly believe that everyone who attends this event will emerge with a new understanding of God’s love for his people. Some will be encouraged in their faith and others will see, for the first time, that God has a unique and divine place for them in his grand narrative.”

Launched in 2016, the Story of Scripture events have been conducted before thousands of people including The Billy Graham Center at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, and dozens of churches nationwide. In addition, the two-day SOS event was conducted internationally in Monrovia, Liberia, and id going to Manila, Philippines in September, 2025

Dr. Mark Yarbrough began his tenure as the 6th president of Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) on July 1, 2020, succeeding Dr. Mark Bailey. He has served in a variety of positions at DTS including Research Assistant to the President, Executive Director of Information Technology, Associate Dean for External Education, Vice President for Communications, Academic Dean, and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

His love for the classroom draws him to the Bible Exposition department where he serves as Professor. Along with his responsibilities of leading DTS, he serves as an elder of Centerpoint Church in Mesquite and travels extensively leading tours and speaking at conference centers. Mark has recently authored Jonah: Beyond the Tale of a Whale and Tidings of Comfort and Joy. He has been married for thirty years to Jennifer, his high school sweetheart. They have four adult children, one son-in-law, and reside in Sunnyvale, Texas.

Dear Parent: What Every Child Wished Their Parents Knew

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – What if you had specific insight into your child’s heart?

Dear Parent is more than parenting advice. It is an invitation to transform your entire approach to your child and shift how you view your role as a parent.

Keith Craft wrote Dear Parent 32 years ago and waited for his one-of-a-kind parenting philosophy to be proven in his own family. Now that 32 years have passed, Keith invited his children, who are all now parents, to contribute to the book by adding their personal perspectives on each section.

This book compels each parent to take a holistic view of themselves, their family dynamics, and the legacy they are creating every day at home. Keith has a unique way of revealing the desires and needs of a child through letters written directly to their parent. Unlike any other parenting book, Dear Parent provides a proven approach as well as insight into a child’s needs, and helps each parent get more of what they want out of their family.

Leadershipology

Leadership Inspiration for Every Day 365 Daily Devotional

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – WHAT IS A LEADERSHIPOLOGY?

Leadershipology is a combination of two words: leadership and ology. Leadership is the capacity of an individual to grow and advance personally that creates an ability to empower others to do the same. Ology is the “study of” something.

Leadershipology is the study of your own personal growth, and the development of your ability to empower the growth of others.

For the first time, Keith Craft has curated his collection of Leadershipologies into Leadershipology 365, combining them with Scripture and a TBQ – Thought Behind The Quote – to challenge and inspire deeper reflection. Each day, you’ll find:

●  A thought-provoking Leadershipology to propel your growth.

●  Biblical insights to align your leadership with timeless truths.

●  Practical steps to take action and transform your life.

Whether you’re leading in your home, workplace, or community, Leadershipology 365 will inspire you to turn every day into another stepping stone towards your greatness!

about love

Let me tell ya ‘bout…a thing called love: New book builds faith in young hearts

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – “I had recently graduated from theological college when my little girl asked me, ‘Daddy, where is God?’ I was completely at sea—struggling to translate lofty theological truths into words a three-year-old could grasp.”

These are the words of Bruce Dutton, author of the newly published children’s book, About Love.

It’s a surprising and touching way to begin our conversation about what inspired him to write the book. “My wife was patiently watching my floundering attempts,” Bruce recalls. “And just as I paused for yet another try, she gently said, ‘Do you mind if I have a go?’

“I nodded, speechless. Then she turned to our daughter and said, quietly and clearly, ‘Jess, always remember that wherever love is, God is close by.’ I’ve never forgotten that moment—or that stunning answer.”

Now a grandfather after more than 50 years in Christian ministry—including leading a community refuge for homeless youth, leading[a] Australia’s first residential school for training Christian youth and community workers, and serving as Principal of a small K–12 community school informed by Christian values[b] —Bruce tells me that conversation was one of the key moments that sparked the idea for About Love, the first in a planned series of children’s books aimed at nurturing faith in young hearts.

Among those young hearts are his six grandchildren—with a seventh on the way.

Another source of inspiration was Gary Chapman’s 1992 classic The Five Love Languages. While psychological research offers limited support for Chapman’s core theories, many therapists and psychologists agree on this: people give and receive love in diverse ways, and the concept of “love languages” can be a helpful framework for identifying and understanding these expressions.

Bruce believes that even though some children grow up in challenging circumstances, most little ones have some experience of love—whether from caregivers, extended family, or the world around them.

Drawing on real-life moments with his grandchildren, About Love begins with toddlers’ everyday joys and the different ways they feel affection, connection, and care. Each page features bright, full-colour toddler-sized characters describing their experience of love, accompanied by a simple phrase or sentence introducing one of nine “languages of love.”

Each double-page spread gently links these expressions of love to the love of God, pointing young readers to the idea that God is the source of all true love.

“Well, that was the theory anyway,” Bruce says with a chuckle at the end of our chat. “But the most rewarding part is that About Love has become our almost-three-year-old granddaughter’s favourite book. She keeps asking her mum to read it to her! I hope it helps her—and lots of other children—grow to recognize and embrace God’s love. That’s my prayer.”

Bruce and his wife now run a mental health therapy practice in Launceston, Tasmania, drawing on their decades of experience in Christian ministry. With real-life toddler moments and whimsical illustrations, About Love celebrates the many ways love is experienced by little ones—and gently leads them toward the heart of God, who is love itself.

The release date is April 15, 2025, and is available on Amazon and wherever books are sold, including local bookstores. If not on the shelves yet, the bookstore can order it for you.

Errin Withatongue tells the story of Errin, whose tongue grows as the consequence of each negative statement he makes. The story of Errin highlights the power of being positive and shows how our thoughts lead to feelings, that turn into actions, and end up shaping our experiences. st anne's island

New Novel St. Anne’s Island Offers a Stirring Look at Starting Over—and the Courage It Takes to Trust Again

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – United States—Tuesday, April 22, 2025

Jane Duquette’s “St. Anne’s Island” releases April 22, 2025 and the ebook is free to download for five days through April 26, 2025.

What happens when a woman who’s spent her life serving others is finally given the chance to rediscover herself? In her emotionally rich new novel “St. Anne’s Island,” author Jane Duquette brings readers a heartfelt story of second chances, healing, and the often-complicated path toward love.

When Liz Colton’s husband dies, she isn’t sure how to live outside the shadow of caregiving and control. Grieving but quietly relieved, Liz accepts an invitation from her cousin to visit Savannah aboard a houseboat. It’s a change of scenery—and perhaps the spark of a new beginning. But when new friendships, and even a hint of romance, begin to bloom, Liz’s adult children raise doubts. Should she listen to their concerns or trust her own heart?

Across town, Luke is also trying to rebuild. Decades after a painful betrayal, he’s back in Savannah to care for his mother and face the ghosts of a past he never quite outran. He’s not looking for love—until Liz shows up at the dock.

Tender, honest, and full of quiet hope, “St. Anne’s Island” explores what it means to start over after loss, to rebuild trust after betrayal, and to listen for God’s voice above the noise of others’ expectations.

Perfect for fans of Christian women’s fiction and emotionally grounded storytelling, “St. Anne’s Island” invites readers to reflect on their own second chances and the sacred courage it takes to begin again.

Jane Duquette’s “St. Anne’s Island” paperback will be available on Tuesday, April 22; with the e-book free to download on Amazon for 5 days, Tuesday, April 22 through April 26, 2025. “St. Anne’s Island” debuted to rave reviews! Here’s what just a couple of the reviewers have said:

the greatest treasure

New picture book release invites children to learn about the meanings of the names of Jesus

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – A new picture book, The Greatest Treasure, by Vicky J. Wedel (Redemption Press), shares some of the names of Jesus and their meanings in a way that children will understand.

The book shows He is more than just a name and that who He is cannot be adequately and fully expressed in human language. When children learn His names and what they mean, their understanding of who He is grows beyond simple descriptors like “kind” and “loving.”

The Greatest Treasure sticks to a treasure hunt theme, with readers being introduced to the greatest treasure of all—Jesus! Just like a treasure chest that’s filled with priceless jewels, Jesus’s sacrifice and love for us are truly valuable beyond our estimation. In beautiful rhyming language, readers are shown aspects of Jesus’s character, how He is present in our lives, and what He does for us.

Written with depth, rich wording, and concepts not often seen in picture books, this is a story that will grow with the child and that can be read again and again. Adult readers are included, as at the end of the book a letter is written just to them, as well as a glossary of familiar terms, such as “sin” and “confess.”

The included Bible verses help readers identify the timeless truths that are presented, and they could be used as a springboard for family devotions, further discussions, and learning.

Vicky Wedel says, “My hope in writing this book is to reach those who haven’t met Him and introduce them to Him as well as give a deeper understanding of who He is to those who have.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Vicky is a follower of Christ, a wife, mother, and friend. She loves children and taught kindergarteners at church for twenty-three years. She also loves writing devotions, poems, and children’s books to share what God has taught her. Her hope is to share His message of love, grace, mercy, and relentlessness so they can work all together, even in the messiness of our lives, for the ultimate good of those who embrace Jesus as our Creator, Sustainer, sovereign Savior, and Lord. She wants readers to know that the Lord alone has the power to change hearts and lives, growing in them a desperate dependence on Him and devotion to Him.

i beg to differ

If your job defines your identity and worth, this author might be able to help you

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – You are so much more to you than what you do!

In a world that values hard work, ambition and success, it is easy to find our identity in what we do, rather than who we are. In his debut book, Killing the CEO-Losing Self, Finding God Finding Life, Darren Copland takes his readers on an authentic journey through the pitfalls of living out of a false identity and the damage that follows when we become attached to our societal roles.

Killing the CEO is Darren’s journey from competence to burnout and back again. It’s a story of transformation that traverses the challenging landscape of leadership growth, success, stress, depression and anxiety. It’s a story of a brutal reality check, where he had to confront the foundation of his core beliefs, values and faith to discover his true identity.

For Darren, his role of being the CEO became so fused with his identity that he had almost ceased to exist. Through this painful journey of self-discovery, Darren reveals the path to life is to follow Jesus’ example through complete surrender to God.

After two and a half years of intense mental turmoil, extreme physical fatigue, radically diminished social capacity and total spiritual dryness, he found himself at rock bottom. There at the bottom, not only did he find himself; he found God…again.

Living the scriptures openly, Darren tells his amazing story and invites his readers to personally connect with the humanity of his struggle by sharing his own journal entries. It is with authentic transparency that Darren leads his readers to understand the truth of Matthew 16: 25 – 26; “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?”

But Darren does not stop there. His story reflects the life-changing transformation that occurs when we follow the advice of Paul in Ephesians 4:22 – 24: to “put off the old self, which is being corrupted by its evil desires, to be made new in the attitudes of your minds and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Although few find themselves in the role of CEO, Darren clearly identifies that we all have the tendency to live as the CEO of our own lives and in doing so, connect our value, worth and identity to our skills and roles. The outcome is often catastrophic.

With a heart to help people successfully navigate their own journeys and avoid some of the pitfalls and pain that he has endured, Darren uses his extensive experience and facilitation skills at the end of each chapter to distill some of the key lessons and guides the reader’s reflection on their own journey.

If you are driven to succeed and live your life for a purpose…
If you are striving to achieve, to please and to be productive…
If you find yourself constantly on high alert but struggling with clarity and decision making…
If you have ever felt like a fraud, an imposter or a failure…
If your list of shoulds is overwhelming…
If you are fatigued, but struggle to rest…

Then you need to read this book. Killing the CEO will make you laugh, cry, grimace and perhaps wonder…could this be me?

Killing the CEO, published by Ark House, is now available globally.

Sarah Griffiths Hu’s raw and relatable story of choosing faith over fear is helping women discover courage they didn’t know they had.

What if the fears you’ve tried to hide are the very places God wants to meet you? In her debut book “Courageous Trust: A Journey of Faith over Fear”, author and speaker Sarah Griffiths Hu opens wide the pages of her own story—one marked by anxiety, trauma, and heartbreak—to show how even the most broken places can become sacred ground for healing and transformation.

But “Courageous Trust” isn’t a book about staying stuck in fear. It’s an invitation to discover what’s possible when you trust God with your whole heart.

Terri Blakeslee’s “Little Girl Redeemed” will be available tomorrow April 8, 2025 and ebook free to download for five days through April 12, 2025.

In her raw and heartfelt debut novel, “Little Girl Redeemed,” author Terri Blakeslee gives voice to the silent suffering of abuse survivors through the eyes of a young girl who loses everything but hope.

Twelve-year-old Marcy’s story is not one easily told—but it’s one that needs to be heard. Trapped in a home marked by violence, betrayal, and emotional manipulation, Marcy’s innocence is shattered by the one person meant to protect her—her own father. What follows is a harrowing journey of survival as she wrestles with trust, trauma, and questions of worth.

Told with grace and authenticity, “Little Girl Redeemed” is a compelling and compassionate novel based on true-to-life experiences. It paints a powerful picture of the emotional and spiritual scars left behind by abuse—and the God who never stops pursuing us, even in the darkest valleys.

“Can God redeem the mess I’m in?”

That’s the question at the heart of Marcy’s story—and one that resonates with countless women who carry unspoken wounds.

From shattered innocence to a teenage pregnancy, from a hasty marriage to spiritual awakening, Marcy’s life is a testament to the healing power of redemption. This novel speaks directly to the hearts of women who wonder if their past has disqualified them from a future—and declares boldly: God still writes beautiful stories out of broken chapters.

Terri Blakeslee’s, “Little Girl Redeemed” is not just a book—it’s a beacon of hope for survivors of abuse, women navigating trauma, and anyone who needs the reminder that no life is too far gone for the redeeming love of God.

Perfect for:

  • Survivors of childhood abuse
  • Women seeking healing from past trauma
  • Support groups, counselors, and Christian ministries
  • Book clubs looking for deep, redemptive fiction

Terri Blakeslee’s “Little Girl Redeemed” paperback will be available on Tuesday, April 8; with the e-book free to download on Amazon for 5 days, Tuesday, April 8 through April 12, 2025. “Little Girl Redeemed” debuted to rave reviews! Here’s what just a couple of the reviewers have said:

5 Stars True forgiveness through the Father
The emotions felt while reading can’t be described. There were times when I felt like I was right there walking beside Marcy feeling her pain, hurt, guilt and shame. To see how the love of a Heavenly Father can help heal pain from an earthly father is powerful. To truly surrender it all to God and let Him do what only He can do reminds me of the sacrifice Jesus gave on the cross and how through Him we find true peace, love, joy, happiness and yes even forgiveness. Everyone should read this!!!

5 Stars – A beautiful story of forgiveness
This piece covers heavy topics, but was easy to comprehend and read. It’s a beautifully written story of a girl growing up in poverty in the Deep South and all the troubles and difficult decisions that come along with that. Within this book are marvelous characters that helped a little girl find hope in a life that seemed a prison. There were definitely sections of the book that I had to pause and urge myself to continue due to the story’s gravity. Reading this story where forgiveness is given to those who have done the unthinkable, allows me to have a new perspective and empathy for those I have a hard time forgiving myself. I definitely shed a few tears reading this masterpiece.

thus to fling her soul

Life: yours, mine, is shaped, drawn, by a Calling. Here is a new book with a message for you

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – In the miracle of Life and our living of it we feel a Call; intimation of a Vision. In faith and trust we believe this is God’s vision, God’s Call on our life.

Yet…we also know that it is like to want to give up. We have dreams and desires, things for which we have longed and prayed, yet which, as we live and pray, seem elusive, even unreachable. We age… time is running quickly… and yet, God calls.

We are drawn by hope, and this new book is a story of pushing forward in hope, faith and trust. Thus to Fling Her Soul is New Zealand-based author Jennifer De Leon’s story of hope, faith and trust. It is written from the perspective of a woman who understands how you may feel in your own Journey.

Through facing enormous challenges, Jennifer, a former ballet dancer who has received distinguished recognition both nationally and internationally, has written her book to encourage readers to not give up.

Thus to Fling Her Soul is about performance, age, brokenness, vulnerability and ‘the Call.’ “My goal with this book is to inspire hope – offering a vision as to how life with age, injury, pain and vulnerability can be lived not just satisfactorily, but abundantly – vividly,” Jennifer states.

“It speaks of alternatives to giving up. It speaks of being an artiste, knowing a ‘Call,’ being broken, old – and not giving up. This book is for all we who are aging, know pain, loss, despair and yet, are drawn by a Call to not give up.”

Thus to Fling Her Soul is partly autobiographical: the journey of a performer with a breadth of experience. It is also deeper than that. Simultaneously a practicing choreographer and dancer, Jennifer is a writer with a bent to the academic. Holding several degrees, including a Masters’ Degree with first class honors, Jennifer explains how she includes theoretical research in her writing, using a hermeneutical, phenomenological-investigative approach, drawing on her PhD work and recommending how her work can contribute to ongoing research.

“My rationale for this is because it supports my story about how and why, despite age, injury and pain, ‘flinging the soul’ is a worthy alternative to giving up” and “Whilst growing old, pain, vulnerability and the Call are not uniquely mine, we all, universally, have personal experience of these.”

Jennifer’s personal journey has included an extreme road accident, a death, and she has undergone two hip replacements, one shoulder replacement, a knee replacement, and metatarsal-foot reconstruction, all within a life of high-level dancing and performing.

It has been no mean passage.

She says, “By faith in God I dance, by His grace I live.”

Thus to Fling Her Soul is about practice, artistic insight, inspiration, aging, grit, and living fully in the liminal space between this life and what lies ahead. The market for this book is we who, rather than succumbing to the inevitable aging, injury, pain and crumbling of the body, instead do the journey with a Will that might waver, flicker, tremble, but does not disappear. For it is by God’s grace.

If you have felt some sense of the Call, have known the challenge and pain of the pursuit but have not – will not quit, then this powerful book is for you. United in our setbacks, formidable, various and curious, Thus to Fling Her Soul is a call to arms! Along with age, injury and pain, let us ‘fling the soul’ – it is the alternative to giving up.

Thus to Fling Her Soul is now available globally.
