IKAR Holdings empowering its future business inspired by the Mensuram Bonam program of the Vatican

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – During a press conference, hold in Rome this week, Mario Diel, the founding Chairman of IKAR Holdings, had announced that his group will empower its future business inspired by the Mensuram Bonam program of the Vatican.

IKAR Holdings is a London-based privately held group of entrepreneurial companies that pioneers a new wave of entrepreneurship based on ethics, responsibility and social impact.

Comprising more than 40 companies, its mission is to build companies that drive economic growth by elevating social and environmental standards.

IKAR was established as a catalyst and disruptor, driven by the fundamental belief that the next generation of successful companies must shift their mindset—balancing wealth creation with the responsibility of uplifting the world.

IKAR’s vision right from the beginning was to lay its focus on the human capital and was created as the world’s first HUMICORN in the business environment.

Since its founding more than 5 years ago, Ikar has managed to create a unique group structure, which theoretically allows them unlimited growth. They operate through five vertically positioned holdings, structured into an investment holding, a purely impact driven holding, another holding, which is focusing on the crypto and fintech sector and two regional holdings, covering the GCC region and Southeast Asia, as well as Japan and India.

The group is active in more than 10 sectors, from education to energy, healthcare, sports, technology, aviation, construction, hospitality, real estate and services.

They have assembled an extraordinary team of entrepreneurs, executives and former global government leaders, representing more than 20 different nations.

The group decided – as a logical consequence of its corporate vision – to be guided from now on by the ethical framework of the Catholic Church and being inspired by the Mensuram Bonam program of the Vatican.

Mario Diel, stated: “When I was reading the Mensuram Bonam program of the Vatican- prepared under the leadership of his eminence Cardinal Peter Turkson- I was immediately intrigued. I believe that integrity, compassion and responsibility are essential to all business. With these values at its core, it envisions a future where innovation uplifts humanity, strengthens communities and promotes sustainability.

“The values of the Catholic Church and the ways how to execute business in the corporate and finance world mentioned in the Mensuram Bonam program have inspired me as they are in line with our entrepreneurial vision. We have significant goals we aim to achieve in the upcoming years. We would be delighted if more companies follow our mission of changing the world through business, for the betterment of human being, but based on ethical values and inspired by the Catholic Church”.

5 Stars – Spiritual Practice

Coming to Christianity from a spiritual background in Shaivism, I have often felt a lack of instruction on spiritual practice. My guru was very clear about what our daily practices should be, but in the church it seemed to be left up to me…to to do what? Pray, read the Bible, go to church. I looked for more guidance on ways to grow spiritually, and deepen my faith. Rev. Flanagan offers such a practice in this book. Each chapter clearly defines a focus of contemplation and practice, each chapter building a deeper sense of onesself in relationship…ultimately to God and His Creation. This will be a perfect Lenten practice, especially with a group.

5 Stars Integrates relational, psychological, spiritual into a practical tool for personal growth.

I love that Rev Flanagan’s experience is multi-faceted, as a priest/theologian with mental health experience and interest/study of philosophy, it all comes through in his book. Readable, pragmatic style. Easy to incorporate into a self-discovery journey.

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds – the little book that wrote itself!

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – James Campbell, the author of the recently released book, How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds, says that writing the book was never on his horizon, but he believes that with direction and prodding from the Holy Spirit, the book was guided to completion.

It started one Sunday when James had finished singing one of his favorite hymns. As he sat back in his pew, he realized that he had been on automatic pilot when he sang one of the verses. Usually, the singer can process the biblical truths the hymnwriter is conveying when singing a hymn, but this verse was so full of information that there was no time in the few seconds it took to sing the verse for James to process its content.

James was referring to the fourth verse of John Newton’s beautiful hymn ‘How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds’. In this verse Newton lists ten attributes of Jesus that are dear to those who are walking the ‘narrow way’.

“Jesus, my shepherd, brother, friend, my prophet, priest,

and king, my Lord, my life, my way, my end, accept the

praise I bring.”

James noted that the verse was not generic, but Newton had made it personal by using the possessive ‘my’. And, while it was appropriate for Newton to make these declarations for himself, our author felt it was another matter for him to take Newton’s words and sing them, without thinking through the meaning of what he is singing. And, as he says, he could not do that in the brief time it takes to sing the verse.

And so, he gave himself the task of writing a brief reflection on each of the ten attributes. After he had written several reflections, he found that the reflection had expanded to include the following.

The reflection itself that presents the author’s thoughts on the attribute. James notes he is a mere pew-dweller, so don’t expect to be overcome by weighty matters!

For each reflection a section that compliments the reflection by adding points for meditation.

A hymn that is appropriate to that attribute, and forms part of the meditation section and can be listened to by using a link or code.

James applied this approach to each attribute and finally the little book was completed. The author’s hope is that people may find the book helpful as a personal resource for quiet times, or could use it for group discussion, or Bible study groups.

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds, published by Ark House, is now available globally in soft cover.

have a good day

British author’s powerful book will show you how to welcome God into everyday life

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – How can we be encouraged in challenging times? Is there a way to journey through suffering and to not lose heart?  Is there a way to remain strong in spirit even when your body is experiencing weakness?

In Have a Good Day Ed Quibell draws on his own experiences of ill health and disability, revealing how to release the power of scripture into our everyday lives. In each daily thought, Ed takes the simple truths of scripture and makes them easy to understand, with practical suggestions of ways in which you can make your faith active and alive, whatever the circumstances you face.

Each thought has been distilled in the secret place, where God’s word has nourished and strengthened Ed on his own challenging journey.  Have a Good Day encourages us that when the outlook is bleak, when the light is fading, when troubles are brewing, and circumstances are out of control, it is God’s Word that remains steady, true and life changing.

Have a Good Day will help you to keep your eyes on a loving Father God who can sustain you, carry you and rescue you.  As Marti Green, Co-founder of YWAM England, says ‘I have often found it is just the ‘bite’ I need for my own day’.

For over 35 years, Ed has been living with the long-term effects of cancer and radiotherapy treatment.  Due to neurological damage Ed now has restricted speech, is hearing impaired and is fed through a gastro tube. In 2014 he had to retire from his full-time job as a vicar in the Church of England. Although his body has been weakened, his ability to communicate restricted and his identity stripped away, it is God’s Word that feeds him and keeps him moving forward in hope.

Dave Harvey, Leader of the ‘Bethel Leaders Network’, wrote this about Ed: ‘I have known many leaders across the world, but few with the calibre of Ed. He has walked along one of the most difficult roads that a human could ever walk, yet he has shone as one of the brightest lights that I have ever seen.’

Have a Good Day is a brilliant collection of biblical truths which are challenging yet graceful, humble and real, with a light touch and a twinkle of joy and fun

Former Meth Addict Releases a Faith-Based Recovery Program

FAITH NEWS SERVICE – When Johnny Ray Jr. became a drug addict at sixteen, he didn’t know that it would be twenty years before he would hit bottom and be free of his addiction. He says, “I was the guy who slept under bridges, ate out of dumpsters, and lived out of cars. During the worst of it, I witnessed my friends die right in front of me.

Everything I suffered was a constant part of my active use, a never-ending cycle of homelessness and agony. In the end, my addiction took me to a campsite surrounded by garbage. I was starving with no money, all bridges burned, and ready to die. I had hit rock bottom.”

Ray tells the story of his own recovery after giving everything over to God and shares a recovery road map for others in 5R Recovery: Works in Progress, Vol. 1 (Redemption Press). He says, “My story is a testament to what hard work in your recovery and turning your life over to God can be.”

Now he helps others work through their recovery to build or rebuild a life with God at the helm through the 5R Recovery program, which he founded in 2020. Ray defines the five Rs of the program by saying, “When you begin with REMEMBER, choose to RECOVER, and learn to REJOICE, you become REBORN and start to RE-LIVE.”

Ray, who is now a life coach, recovery coach, and peer counselor, says recovery is about more than just recovery from drugs. 5R Recovery is for anyone trapped in reoccurring cycles or who puts anything ahead of God. 5R Recovery: Works in Progress helps people work through the issues in their lives and deals with topics such as connections, morals, community, and values.

The workbook helps others find purpose and a future by following its road map. Built around the book of James, it is more than just Johnny’s story of recovery, but offers help, hope, and support through a daily devotional with Scripture and journal space.
