FAITH NEWS SERVICE – I found a recipe for reducing stress while attending a networking event at Blu Mar Restaurant in the Southampton’s.
The two hour drive plus change of scenery from Jamaica, Queens to Main Street, Southampton’s made me feel much lighter emotionally. I have been under a lot of stress lately and this trip to network outside of my comfort zone totally reduced my stress by at least 30 percent. So, I wrote down some tips for reducing stress to share with my clients and with you.
As a naturopathic doctor, I see so many clients that are dealing with extreme stress and/or grief. I see the effects of stress as it invades and diminishes the strength of one’s organs. That’s why it is said that stress is a killer.
Tip # 1: Find a mentor who inspires you. Visit that mentor as often as you could. They will always say or do something that will take you up a notch or two.
Tip #2: Endeavor to go out to a place or event totally out of your zone.
Tip #3: Meet new people with different perspectives and follow up with them.
Tip # 4: Do take long walks in the park, on the beach, go hiking in the mountains, swim in a lake or step into a natural waterfall in the mountains, try horseback riding perhaps or a sport or game that you have not tried before.
Tip # 5: Meditate daily, exercise deep breathing. This allows one to release toxins.
Tip # 6: Do eat healthy foods, leafy greens, vegetables, drink lots of water and remember to take your vitamins and minerals. Know that mineral deficiency can weaken your body, bones and brain.
Tip # 7: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power so that you will be able to stand your ground when evil comes, like David when he fought the giant Goliath.
Tip # 8: Stand truthfully, go peacefully, live righteously and keep your head together. (Book of Ephesians 6:10)
Tip # 9: Develop and use faith daily as a shield to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Believe in yourself.
Tip # 10: Constantly pray, read and memorize scriptures, especially when going through stressful times.
Tip # 11: Talk things out with a friend or counselor if you can. Do read poetry, check out Desiderata poem it will help you see things a little clearer.
Tip # 12: Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and doors will open for you. (Matthew 7:7) Trust the Lord, believe His Holy Word, have faith and you will see the victory.
Tip #13: Book an appointment at a spa or beauty salon. A new hairstyle or manicure/pedicure will relax your mind, body and spirit.
