Life Fest – Hollywood, Again Set to Rock the Industry

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., — On May 3 and 4, Life Fest Hollywood marks its 9th year at Raleigh Studios, Hollywood, the original Chaplin Studios. In seeking to revive the real roots of Hollywood storytelling, the goal of Life Fest is to honor films that highlight the significance of an individual life, especially the seemingly insignificant life. Life Fest’s signature award, the “Spirit of Capra,” is named after director Frank Capra, whose work underscored the significance of the seemingly insignificant life, and how one “insignificant individual life, though seemingly irrelevant, can actually change everything in the world in which he or she lives.”

Many diverse shorts and features have been honored at Life Fest over the years, including: October Baby, The Way; Doonby; The Book Thief; Brother’s Keeper; Return to the Hiding Place, Gosnell, and now Unplanned, which has been nominated for picture of the year.

Of the 280 films entered for this year’s screenings only 14 were chosen. “We actively seek out the new generation of filmmaker, and help get them scholarships and connections with industry folks,” says Brian Johnston, Festival Director. Johnston, who brings experience in entertainment law, acting and producing, wants the ‘deeper structure’ of real story-telling retold in the visual medium again.

“Not a lot of car crashes; CGI or gratuitous blood and kinetics in our typical honorees. It’s the human story – the individual who struggles and whose struggle and decisions are just human. That’s how good storytelling reaches us. They may be facing extraordinary circumstances, but they face them.

“I think Frank Capra said it best,’ says Johnston. “Every individual is unique. That insignificant guy or gal is in fact VERY significant. We are all unique. There is only one you.’

“Capra really got story, says Johnston. “And he mastered so many nuances and details of examining that person and making them empathetic characters. The reason stories matter is that, we all have a story. We are all significant, even if others or all of society implies otherwise.”

Screenings run May 3-4, with workshops and industry networking opportunities. A limited-time early bird discount (code EZ) is available on-line. See more at http://Lifefilmfest.com.

“The Passion Oratorio: A Live Concert Event” releases to DVD and On-demand

To coincide with the 15th anniversary of “The Passion of the Christ” movie, “The Passion Oratorio: A Live Concert Event” releases to DVD and On-deman

Featuring original music from John Debney, the Oscar-nominated composer for the film

For Immediate Release

FAITH NEWSWIRE – (Burbank, CA) – Debney Productions and Costa Communications, in cooperation with Icon Productions, announce the DVD/On-demand release of “The Passion Oratorio: A Live Concert Event.” The concert was filmed before an audience of over 6000 people at the world-renowned Mosque-Cathedral in Cordoba Spain.  It was the first orchestral concert performed in the mosque in over 40 years.

“The Passion Oratorio” features the original concert work by the Oscar-nominated composer John Debney, the film’s lyricist/vocalist/soloist Lisbeth Scott, the film’s worldwind flute soloist Pedro Eustache, the Ziryab Choir, and the Cordoba Orchestra under the direction of Kevin Kaska. Other solo performers included tenor Juan Luque and soprano Maria Alonso.  “The Passion Oratorio” is available on-demand on iTunes, Amazon and Vudu, and available for purchase on Amazon.  The release coincides with the 15th anniversary of “The Passion of the Christ” movie release.

“I was so honored to have the Passion Oratorio performed in the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba where people of all faiths visit the mosque that was constructed over 1000 years ago,” explains Debney.

Director Mel Gibson praised the composer’s concert work. “John Debney’s musical score for ‘The Passion of the Christ’ enhanced the film’s images to an otherworldly realm,” said Gibson. “In his Oratorio, John has gone a step further and expanded his inspiration to a work that transcends its orchestrations to speak straight to the heart and soul, like a prayer.”

John Debney has conducted several performances of “The Passion Oratorio” throughout the world, including the first concert in Rome, Italy.  Following the performance, Archbishop Foley of the Vatican, who was in attendance, blessed Debney and the work.  “As a composer, it was an experience that comes along once in a lifetime to be associated with a film that touched so many people’s lives,” said Debney. “The Passion of the Christ” movie score was nominated for an Oscar, and became a gold-selling album in 2004. To Call Greek Religious Art “Myth” Is a Profound Insult to the Ancient Sculptors and Artists

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ANCIENT GREEK RELIGIOUS TEMPLE AND VASE ART BOASTS OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE WAY OF CAIN (MAN AS THE MEASURE OF ALL THINGS) IN THE POST-FLOOD WORLD

To Call Greek Religious Art “Myth” Is a Profound Insult to the Ancient Sculptors and Artists

Author Robert Bowie Johnson, Jr. is pleased to announce that his latest book, the full-color “Genesis Characters and Events in Ancient Greek Art,” reveals for the first time the human Genesis identities of the key ancient Greek gods. Zeus and Hera, the first couple according to the Greeks, are the deified Adam and Eve of Genesis. Hephaistos, their eldest son, is the Cain of Genesis, the eldest son of Adam and Eve. Herakles is the Nimrod of Genesis, and Nereus (“the Wet One”) is the ancient Greek representation of Noah, and so on.

The key ancient Greek gods look just like people because they are people – exalted ancestors. The philosopher Socrates knew this quite well, referring in Plato’s Euthydemus (at 302d) to Zeus, Apollo and Athena as his “lords and ancestors.”

Mr. Johnson reinforces the truths revealed in his book in the following articles as well:

Garden of Eden Depicted in Ancient Greek Religious Art

Ancient Greek Vase Artists Painted Images of Biblical Figures Noah and Nimrod Over 2,000 Years Ago

Ancient Greek Vase Celebrates the Exaltation of Our Ancestors as Gods

The Hidden Identity of the Woman Glorified as Athena: Her Link to the Pre-Flood World

According to Mr. Johnson, “The Greeks believed the ancient serpent ‘enlightened’ rather than deluded the first couple in paradise.” He added, “In ancient Greek religious temple and vase art, we find the origin in this age of so-called progressivism – the idea that God should be pushed out of the picture, and mankind exalted instead.”

Mr. Johnson is also the author of “Noah in Ancient Greek Art” and “The Parthenon Code: Mankind’s History in Marble,” translated into French and Greek.

What is Our Response When Terrorists Attack? Vengeance, Anger …. or Prayer

For Immediate Release

Dallas, TX…. Sri Lanka! Yet, another terrorist attack to outdo all prior terrorist attacks happened on Easter Sunday. Dr. Ramesh Richard, president of RREACH and Professor of Global Theological Engagement and Pastoral Ministries at Dallas Theological Seminary, wrote this to help Christians know how to respond:

Today is Sri Lanka’s day of mourning over the terrorist’s bomb blasts I churches and hotels on Easter morning two days ago.

A place of worship, just as believers call on their respective almighty Gods for protection and provision, is the most vulnerable of all locations to strike and kill. Our “thoughts and prayers” have been with the nation and families of victims over these two days. Although “thoughts and prayers” has become a responsive but ineffective cliché, it could not apply better than when mosques, churches and temples are attacked—where thoughts and prayers are most thought and expressed.

Further, the Christian Faith’s holiest day, what makes its Founder most distinctive among the various salvation offerings was picked by terrorists for the most possible number of casualties among believers. They had gone in droves to worship Jesus, the Christ, who rose from his death three days prior. This annual commemoration of the only verifiable, self-resurrection in all of history gives eternal hope in the face of death—whether by age, illness, accident or murder—the pervasive final equalizer. In the middle of their deep sorrow, our thoughts for them are help-filled, because they are hope-filled.

And in the face of sorrow for brothers and sisters and others who died, we are prayers-filled.

Perhaps, the most known teacher of the evangelical Christian faith in Sri Lanka who humbly wrote the following prayer requests for his land. Please join him, me, and thousands of others in mature, forgiving and targeted prayer:

1) Please pray that the church would act with maturity reflecting the holy-love of God: on the one hand, insisting that the authorities will carry out a thoroughgoing investigation and will punish the wrongdoers; and on the other hand, personally and corporately showing love to all, including our enemies.

2) Pray for the injured and for their speedy recovery.

3) Pray for the emotionally scarred and for their steady recovery.

4) Pray for God’s comfort and strength to the many Christian and non-Christian people who have been devastated by the loss of their loved ones.

5) Pray also that extremist forces would not use these incidents to cause unrest in the country.

You can click here to obtain a free downloadable pdf, Terrorists: What Should We Do? Just Pray?, to find more of Dr. Richard’s “thoughts and prayers,” on this horrific subject written after another such unforgettable incident.

This pdf can be made available to your reader’s either as an article or as a free, downloadable pdf.

A theologian-evangelist, philosopher-expositor, educator and author, Dr. Richard holds a Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary and Ph.D. from the University of Delhi. In addition to serving as president of RREACH, he also serves as Professor of Global Theological Engagement and Pastoral Ministries at Dallas Theological Seminary. Dr. Richard travels throughout the world clarifying the message of the Bible through lectures and preaching. His audiences range from non-Christian intellectuals in major universities to poor pastors in rural areas, from gatherings of a few to crowds of a hundred thousand. Through RREACH, he has trained thousands of church leaders in over 100 countries to preach, live, and think biblically.

Word Potential “Essays On The Faculty Of Spoken Words”

Dr. Tony V. Lewis opens our hearts and minds to the endless possibilities of the Word of God and presents a thought-provoking message of transparency. Word Potential is a kingdom jewel every born again believer should own as part of their ministry library. The potential of our words shape the world in which we live. Dr. Lewis shows us the difference between talking and speaking. The old saying is true; it is not what we say – it is how we say it. One of the reasons some received the Word of God in Christ is because some heard Him talking, while others discerned Him speaking. We aren’t talking spirits; we are speaking spirits. God didn’t talk and there was light. God spoke and there was light. God didn’t talk about day and night. God spoke, and there was day and night. Those who speak produce, and those who talk consume.

In the new book by Dr. Tony V. Lewis, The Wife He Wants, Dr. Lewis underscores the spiritual secrets that every godly man wants in his wife. Jesus Global Youth Day

Inaugural Gathering Aims to Shape the Trajectory of Christianity for the Next Generation

Manila, Philippines – Research continues to suggest that there is an ever-widening gap between the Church and today’s youth. With an exponentially rapid rate of change underway, young people are submerged in a tidal wave of technology and moral revolution sure to make the smart phone and social media craze of today appear as a mud puddle in comparison. As a result, many leaders have grave concern over the growing competition for the hearts and minds of young people and are finding it increasingly difficult to reach the younger generation for Christ.

Sensing that it is time for significant change, steering committees in 45 nations have come together to create and facilitate Jesus Global Youth Day (JGYD), August 8-10, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, Philippines, and coinciding with the United Nations International Youth Day. A number of denominational heads from around the world, along with international organizations such as Empowered 21, have also joined together to form a JGYD global advisory council aimed at uniting church leaders and encouraging them to focus on the next generation.

Bishop Ef Tendero, secretary general of the World Evangelical Alliance and co-chair of JGYD states, “We are gathering youth from all over the world to lift up the name of the Lord Jesus, to declare the commitment and the desire to follow Him all of their lives. We truly believe that this will be a historic event.”

JGYD 2019 will be streamed live to 1,000 locations, partnering with 10,000 churches with the potential of reaching up to one million Filipino youth alone. And for the very first time, on the night of August 10, another 100,000 churches filled with young people from all over the world will join a global broadcast that will unite millions of youth in the name of Christ.

The three life-changing days will include a Global Pastors Congress on the Next Generation, a Global Youth Leader Congress, and evening celebrations led by internationally acclaimed speakers, worship bands, and artists. The global broadcast finale on Saturday evening is designed not only for Christian young people but will also target non-Christian youth as well with a fresh, relatable presentation of the Gospel that will enable them to stand firm amidst today’s deceptive culture.

“We are not out to reinvent the wheel,” states Ron Luce, co-chairman and director of JGYD and president of Generation Next. “We are gathering some of the leading minds who have already proven to be effective and asking them to share best practices with those in attendance. We are simply acting as curators of what they have already learned. In doing so, we hope to encourage other leaders with the success they have achieved in spite of the cultural challenges they face. Christianity is losing ground worldwide, so it is vital that the Church remains relevant and exponentially effective in reaching our youth. We must ride the crest of the wave, or we will be crushed by it. We believe that JGYD will be instrumental in achieving that goal.”

Church leaders are also invited to bring their young people a week early, July 31- August 7, for a mission and outreach experience in the Greater Manila Area where youth from all around the world will live out their faith by sharing the good news about Christ with Filipino youth and children. Churches and organizations in the Greater Manila Area will host these groups and lead them in the one-week outreach effort. Churches outside Metro Manila and elsewhere in the world may design and host their own youth conference in their own community and will be provided with sample programs, activities, and JGYD materials such as event logos and brochures.

It is important to note that the vision of JGYD extends far beyond the August event. Their goal is to not only learn over their 3 days together, but to create a global network of church leaders that are committed to reaching and discipling the next generation and extending the kingdom of God globally through their united efforts.

Bishop Tendero and Ron Luce are available for interviews and media appearances.
