Australian Poet Blends Faith and Devotion in New Collection Inspired by the Psalms
FAITH NEWS SERVICE – A new poetry collection by Australian writer Keshan Singh invites readers into moments of spiritual reflection, devotion, and intimacy with God.
150 Psalms: A Collection of God Breathed Poetry, was written during times of personal prayer and contemplation, the poems explore themes of faith, divine love, and the character of God, offering readers a modern expression of praise inspired by the biblical Psalms.
Singh says the collection emerged from a desire to capture the depth of his relationship with God through poetry. Each piece reflects both the love of Jesus for humanity and the spiritual journey many believers experience in their walk of faith.
“These poems were written in moments of intimacy with God,” Keshan explains. “They reflect the love that Jesus has for people, while also revealing something about who God is.”
Some of the poems draw on experiences familiar to many Christians—times of searching, growth, and surrender—while others aim to present spiritual insights that encourage readers to see God in a new light. Keshan hopes the collection will resonate particularly with those seeking a deeper connection with their faith.
The author’s passion for poetry began during his teenage years, when writing became a creative outlet for expressing his thoughts and emotions. Over time, that passion merged with his growing Christian faith.
A major influence on Keshan’s writing is the poetic tradition found in the biblical Psalms. Known for their raw honesty, praise, lament, and reflection, the Psalms showed Singh how poetry can serve as both prayer and worship.
The Psalms revealed to me how powerful poetry can be as a way of communicating with God,” he says. “They inspired me to write my own modern expressions of praise and devotion.”
Through the collection, Keshan hopes readers will find encouragement, comfort, and moments of spiritual reflection. The poems aim to provide reassurance during difficult times while also inviting readers to explore their relationship with God more deeply.
Readers may also find their own spiritual experiences reflected in the poems. Keshan believes this sense of shared journey can help people feel understood and less alone as they navigate faith, doubt, gratitude, and hope.
Based in Australia, Keshan works in the community services sector and is passionate about helping people grow in their faith. He believes that everyone—regardless of their background—is called to do meaningful things for Jesus.
Outside of writing, Keshan shares Christian messages and teaching online, including preaching the Word of God on TikTok. His goal, he says, is simple: to live boldly for Christ and share the message of God’s love with anyone willing to listen.
“I’m a simple man who loves Jesus,” Keshan says. “My heart is to share His Word and His love with people who have an open heart.”
With this new collection, Keshan hopes his poems will lead readers toward a deeper awareness of God’s presence and the enduring love of Jesus—an invitation to experience faith not only through scripture and prayer, but also through the power of poetry.
150 Psalms, published by Ark House, is now available globally.
